I think I like this one.

That was kinda my thought too. Of all the conspiracy theories, this one should cause the most head spinning/panty wadding/blind support/etc.

/I just wish that she would go away for good
//not really expecting that

Nice one, subby.

Jesus Christ! Palin took down Oprah, too.

I literally facepalmed when I read that headline.

Ok, I didn't actually put my hand to my face, but I seriously thought about it...

Fixed.

I just hope that she's prepared to show her original long form birth certificate.

I'm not saying that she was born in Kenya, but I just think it's odd that she hasn't been more forthcoming with any real evidence to prove her citizenship.

Didn't Oprah get raped by a family member?

What on earth are you talking about? No way Oprah takes a backseat to Obama. Sure, Obama's already president, but Oprah's got way more experience running the country than he does. She's a natural pick for top billing.

Funbags 2009-11-19 09:37:05 PM
Meh, was this really the best headline? Pretty weak, felatmitter.

Nah we're probably more like 15-20 years from when people just start electing the most popular celebrity president, we have some time.

I wouldn't worry. Oprah is just going to move the show to her own channel and Palin will not be the Republican nominee.

WoW!

Obama must've really put Rahm to work on her for having Palin on!

She says in the article she came from nothing?
Only if you call the advantage of being a black woman 'nothing'.

By the time I grew up, a white man didn't stand a chance in hell of being successful.

Nice try, Oprah.

Subby and me had the same idea. I had just submitted a similar headline, only with the suggestion that she'll challenge Burris for Obama's former Senate seat. And with a typo. More likely in my mind.

I still fail to see the politician.

She has actually admitted in the past that she votes mostly Republican (look at her past monetary gifts to the party) except in the Obama situation. She apparently goes with the party that makes her the most money.

I am a conservative and I hope our current president makes the situation better. However if he does make it worse, how much more damage could Oprah or Palin actually do? Oprah will probably not run for the same reason that Rush Limbaugh won't. They can't afford the pay cut that they would have to take. Palin has a chance at winning, but only if people smoke a bunch of crack before going to the polls.

The problem that the right wing has now is the same one that the left wing had when W was in office. They won't listen to a good idea if it is proposed by a member of their enemies party. I like the idea of a single payer health care system. What I want though is a middleman between the hospitals and the gov't. Maybe we could vote every 4 years on who our national health provider would be. That would create a competition for service and cost while keeping quality up.

Possibly a bad idea, but just a thought.

We should ammend the constitution first though to include health care as a right before we put a new system in place though.

Dammit, Oprah, stupid homemaker women need something to watch in the kitchen. What are normal men going to do when "The View" finally kicks the bucket?

Oprah is one of the most dangerous women in world history. I hope she just retires to her mansion to swim in her vast riches, Scrooge McDuck style until the day she dies.

Marshmallow Jones 2009-11-20 07:32:27 AM
I would sooner vote for Magilla Gorilla.

Would not surprise me if she ran for office though, she's got the same appeal to idiot housewives that Palin does.

You mean 1980. As that is the only case that remotely resembles what is described.

Funk Brothers 2009-11-20 10:54:28 AM
If she did ran for President, would she beat Obama?

But seriously, I think Oprah is going to make a transition to semi-retirement. She will probably get hired as a correspondent for 60 Minutes and the show will hit number one.

I used to work on her show and am curious what all my ex-coworkers are going to do when the show is over. They've made a career of it, but there's not guarantee for anything in the future. I assume they'll produce other shows at Harpo, but who knows who will staff them...

1derful [TotalFark] 2009-11-20 12:48:34 PM
Jeezus, she's just moving to her own cable network. You'd think she was going to disappear into fat air the way people are carrying on about this.

BigMevy 2009-11-20 02:47:16 PM
I think it's more likely she pulls a Leno retirement, and breaks just long enough to sign a deal with a different network for billions of dollars and laughs all the way to a Popeye's where she eats her way into a new wardrobe.

ilovelucky 2009-11-20 07:23:45 PM
Came here for the Camacho and Oprah's Minge references. Leaving satisfied.

I love you guys.
