That about sums it up.

And if there were 17,000 votes for the Constitution Party that on the ballot of that county was easily confused with the Republican line.

And if a group of Democratic staffers had an astroturf protest outside the office doing the recount, thereby shutting it down.

And if several number-crunching scenarios had the Republican actually coming out on top, but they weren't allowed to count the votes.

And if a liberal Supreme Court issued a 5-4 ruling stopping the recount that specifically said that decision should not be used as precedent for anything in the future.

I didn't like how that month played out, and I don't really know who received the most votes, but I accepted Bush as my President once the electoral votes were counted.

I do believe the fringe right would have started an actual civil war if Obama won that way.

The ChickenHawk Wars 2000-2001

The Republican Right declares war on the US, realizes there's no one will to fight it for them. The war ends when they retreat to their gated communities to vent their frustration by cheating at bridge.

Now, now. They'd have mobilized long enough to shoot a couple abortion doctors and random black people. Then they'd skitter away because the American Idol season was starting.

The left did everything it could to polarize the country after Bush won in 2000. Now they run around astonished that the country is polarized? Sorry, they got what they wanted.

It's a shame for the country, but it's not ever going to change in the lifetimes of anyone reading/participating in this thread, so we all might as well get used to it.

Yeah, because the country which had just voted 48% to 48% wasn't already polarized.

Right, it's not like the Republicans impeached a sitting President for getting a beej in the Oval Office. The Democrats were so petty to oppose a President who launched a war against a country that posed no threat to us.

You were clearly too young or too stupid too understand what happened in that election. Or you're a brilliant troll. Either way, the country is "polarized" between Knuckle-dragging, paranoid, ignorant, bigoted, violently right-wing klansmen trash (the nicest thing that can be thought of about Republicans at this point) vs. EVERYONE ELSE ON EARTH.

I'm no expert on Farkiquette, but I have seen Gorgor post many a picture here without bannination. What you do is post it as a link and label the link "NSFW." That seems to be the protocol.
