Sound mix sucked on that.

The live in Rome series on Youtube has much better audio:

The Great Curve (pops)

Oh and Adrian Belew is an incredible spaz in both. Great guitar player though.

By the end of high school I knew every lyric of every Talking Heads song through True Stories. Still one of my all time favorite bands. Thanks for 'Heads subby.

Wait...perhaps I should rephrase that...

He still sounds great, it kills me that the band broke up with plenty still left in the tank. That said, I hated the dance improv in your link, it's just too pretentious to watch for more than a few seconds, I had to minimize and just listen to the tune.

Never thought of "I Zimbra" as a three-guitar song. "Freebird", sure... or maybe it's a law in Germany that the roadies have to perform on at least one song.

/yo, Adrian

Yeah, Tina's waaaaaaaaaaaay in the back. You can see her in the last shot, as they all strip off their instruments and walk off.

Weird how they never showed her playing. Damn Germans.

Amazing performance of Crosseyed & Painless, from that same show in Rome with Adrien Belew.

ghoulie_mask: Yeah, I was gonna say "Where the Hell is Weymouth???"

Is the bassline in that song so fiendishly difficult that they needed a 2nd bass player? Um, didn't think so. By most accounts, Tina Weymouth was a very odd person during her TH stint, but wow, being a backup musician in a band you helped form? Harsh.

Would likely disapprove of the frantic quality of the performance and the total lack of subtlety as well:

"I Zimbra" is my least favorite song on Fear of Music.

In fact, while that is my favorite Talking Heads album, and one of my favorite all-time records, I always skip that song.

"Mind," "Paper," "Cities," "Electric Guitar" -- so many great songs on that disc. Zimbra? Not so much.
