I rented that game, and it is my new crack. I'm going to have to overcome my guilt about buying myself something so close to Christmas and go purchase it.

I rented CodMW2 the same weekend, and only played it about 5 hrs.

I'm one of the dummies. Seriously, I felt kind of crappy after playing for a couple of days and realizing that I spent $60 on the damn thing.

But, I'm still playing. It's a fun game but could be epic if they would just allow dedicated servers and apply farking Punkbuster or something. The hacks are getting crazy - aimbots, wall hacks, speed, invulnerability are just the few I've seen that are blatantly obvious. If VAC is in place, it isn't doing shiat...and I've seen VAC work well (in TF2).

ive been playing the ass end out of some mw2. pretty much exclusively free for all. about the only complaint i have with mw2 is that the game just keeps track of wins, not wins in the different game modes.

But, I'm still playing. It's a fun game but could be epic if they would just allow dedicated servers and apply farking Punkbuster or something. The hacks are getting crazy - aimbots, wall hacks, speed, invulnerability are just the few I've seen that are blatantly obvious. If VAC is in place, it isn't doing shiat...and I've seen VAC work well (in TF2).

You have to understand how VAC works. It's not a cheat protection scheme, but a cheat detector. Once it identifies a cheat it gathers data on who's using it. Once the cheat is confirmed it Steam bans all users that have it installed. But in order to make sure that the cheat has been correctly identified and also to make sure that the most cheaters are caught it can let the cheat be active for days or weeks.

VAC works great in conjunction with local control. Local control allows admins to police their servers while VAC is gathering data. Then 'poof', a thousand folks find themselves VAC banned and that cheat is off the market. Now IW, in their infinite wisdom, completely removed all local control by removing dedicated servers, votekick and voteban. So when a new hack comes out for MW2 it's going to run unchecked until VAC catches up to it.

I would expect that the first round of VAC bans for MW2 should be coming out soon, which will cause much gnashing of teeth on the Steam VAC ban forums. I'm guessing many MW2 players are playing their first Steam game and the cheaters won't know what hit them when the axe falls.

Same reason the Twilight movies get a ton of press and the final Harry Potter movies will be a media bonanza. People really like them, they're hugely popular, and they make a metric ass-ton of money.

I absolutely adored the fade maze, best one ive seen in an RPG in ages.

I was so happy when this came out and thrilled that it's doing so well. Nearly all the trolls have left the forums of the games I actually play and enjoy!

It's the new Halo. Normal people can pick it up and be good at it. It doesn't really require that much skill when compared to decent RPGs, RTS, or a decently made platformer.

Clearly this is a lie, we all know that peer-to-peer makes it impossible for any form of entertainment media to make a profit in this day and age.

Prime example of the difference: DA:O hard, redcliffe village zombie attack: No one died. Not even a single NPC.

DA:O Nightmare, absolute farking slaughter. Morri went down twice, Lilianna once.

yes, by a lot. I highly recommend checking out Joystiqs review, they loved the game. There is much much much more variety.

Ah, Unreal Tournament. I think I was 16 or 17 when that first came out. I remember spawn sniping a lot on the Facing Worlds map. The amount of rage that caused was amazing.

I had thought about doing AW/BM but I didnt like the look of the BM skills. Good to know, though!

You know, based on things I keep hearing about them, I think AW is just horribly overpowered :3 A mage that can tank is absolutely ridiculous.

After this run, I'm going to go back to my rogue. Maybe do a full rogue party (Probably take the golem as a tank, as he's absofarkinglutely hilarious) , and see if Z-boy wont stay if you fall in love with him.
