FTA: Says Ray, "I'd rather eat Martha's than mine, too."

Um, I'm pretty sure I'd rather eat Rachael's.

Oh, wait...they meant her COOKING.

Heh. I was wondering how long it would take before the first Hydrox fan showed up to defend the Betamax of cookies.

Nabb1: Heh. I was wondering how long it would take before the first Hydrox fan showed up to defend the Betamax of cookies.

I've never actually had them... I just hear they have a strong fanbase.

Honestly, I thought Hydrox was a detergent or something, until I saw the cookies. I'm not too old, and I don't remember ever seeing or hearing about them where I grew up.

That sounds about right. Martha and Rachael are both mediocre mass market dreck.

I'd like to see Anthony Bourdain smack the shiat out of both of them.

Well, that's not always the case - Mario Batali and Masaharu Morimoto are still on the Food Network, and they're beyond awesome.

Wouldn't it be Martha's the Hydrox and Rachael is the Oreo? The Hydrox was out first, like Martha, but the Oreo became better known, which I can't for certainly say is the case with Rachael.

I'd rather eat a bowl of Cheerios with Rachael Ray than a seven course meal with Martha Stewart.

That's OK. I'd far rather eat Rachael than Martha.

However, a Giada/Rachael sandwich -- that would be one yum-o treat.

Rachel Ray's line of cookware is probably the worst-designed stuff I've ever seen sold in stores.

Not that Martha's K-Mart line is exactly the best.

Word to the wise: stay away from any cookware bearing the name of a celebrity chef. I'm not saying there isn't some quality stuff out there, but most of it is crap.

I have considered getting one of Mario Batali's Le Creuset knock-offs, though.

Don't be. I got my brother and his wife a set of that as a wedding gift off of their registry. It's good stuff. It's made by All Clad. That's one reason I qualified it, but I sort of have some issues with Emeril... long story.

Giada's got a big farkin' head. And I hate how she busts out the Italian accent randomly, but speaks perfect English otherwise.

And Rachel Ray is Hitler.

The Stealth Hippopotamus: do NOT fark with Martha. She will cutshank you

FTFY

Martha does have the best claim here. Afterall, she apparently loved Oreos so much that she adopted a clothing style inspired by the Oreo for five months straight.

I got a ton of it for free from Coke rewards. The stuff isn't the best, but for free it's pretty damn nice.

And she is hot. And Martha is not.

We have the anodized aluminum ones with the non-stick coating.. (Wedding Gift)

Good for everyday use, but I still need to get a stainless-steel one with no coating for deglazing sauces. Nothing works better!

And Martha knows about giving unqualified boobs their own shows. Example, her own crotch fruit and her commentary on old Marth Stewart shows. That's power

Atomic Spunk 2009-11-18 06:04:37 PM
That article made me even more of a fan of Rachel Ray. She always struck me as energetic and fun, but she's also quite deferential and humble.

Even though it may be true, I'm a little disappointed that Martha Stewart said those things about Rachel Ray. She could have been more gracious about it.

Martha Stewart says the barely kitchen-competent Rachael Ray is the Hydrox to her Oreo

Hydrox, Oreo, who cares what we call RR? I would take that cookie out of the box, set it gently down on the table and slowly, slowly open it up to reveal the deletable creamy middle. Extending my tounge to its maximum length, I would bury my face right in the center and lap down all the sweet sugary goodness. Then I would dip the rest in milk, lick off of every drop, and one at a time, put those round tasty treats in my mouth and suck down their very essence.

I've never had Hydrox. However, I can say that Neuman-os are better than Oreos. The cookie is not overly sweet, the filling is smooth, and the cookie doesn't crumble when you twist the two halves apart.

ProdigalSigh 2009-11-18 06:15:07 PM
My crazy ex girlfriend had this to say about Rachel Ray: "I like her, she strikes me as someone that's peppy and happy all the time in public and then just goes home and cries for hours."

I was never quite sure why that made her more likeable, but I agree that RR could be that kind of person.

Witchydiva [TotalFark] 2009-11-18 06:22:11 PM
I despise Rachel Ray for the following reasons:
- she happily pimps inane mediocrity to the unwashed masses
- her damaged voice (seriously, give the voice a rest and let your vocal cords heal!)
- EVOO? Really? FML.

I mostly hate the fact that so many people love her (for the first reason cited above).

Martha Stewart is an overpriviledged woman who has amazing knowledge on how to run a household. Anyone hating Martha should probably also be hating Nigella and Giada.
