Is Welsh what Cthulu speaks or something? I know it has its roots in middle english/gaelic and resembles nothing like modern english but I can't help but notice the similarities.

Can't speak for Cthulu, but it's pretty well removed from English. English is a Germanic language, whereas Welsh is a Celtic language. They're only really similar in that they're both Indo-European. It's probably as close English as it is to Hindi.
