Here's a free tip to all musicians:
You get 10 years as a professional - 15 if you're very lucky - when an audience is interested in hearing your new material. After that, you'd better play more classics than new stuff if you want them to keep them at the show.

When you're a '70s act, especially one that's just coming out of retirement, you have to expect that the fans are coming to hear you out of nostalgia. They want to hear your OLD stuff, not your NEW stuff.

Playing a couple of tracks off the new album is acceptable. 40 minutes' worth? Not so much.

Well, not exactly. It was worse, in a way... The 40 minute musical bit featured many of Cat Stevens's hit songs, but they were sung other people, including an 8-year-old kid. The cheapest seat in the house went for 80 Euros, and I'll bet that anyone who likes Cat/Yusuf enough to pay crazy money like that for a show was hoping to hear those songs sung by Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam/Steven Georgiou, not by some musical theater troupe.
