You were at Rob Schneider's wedding?

Are you sure it wasn't Adam Sandler's wedding, and Sandler just gave him a supporting role as an usher?

OK, I'll bite: why were you at Rob Schneider's sham wedding? This feels like the setup, so I'm hoping for a really solid punchline here.

A job is a job. You just stand there and say "Please don't make out on the historic furniture." You also drink their booze and eat their food. Not a bad gig. Sandler and Drew Barrymore were there. Not much hilarity ensued.

Gee, I wonder if any other "star" has figured out that being controversial and outrageous on the radio might garner them some press coverage.

I'm trying to think if anyone else has ever done such a thing. I'm thinking... I'm thinking... I'm thinking... NOPE! Just Rob Schneider. He's the first guy to think up that brilliant piece of self-marketing. What a genius.

CtrlAltDelete [TotalFark] 2009-11-18 04:24:42 AM
Alright.

I really don't like Rob Schneider's movies. I was all ready to see some hissy fit and make fun of him. Because really, f*ck Rob Schneider.

But after going to the radio station's website and watching their stupid video, I have to say, the man was joking around and being sarcastic and then they all started screaming at him. In a very insincere fake-outrage sort of way.

But I don't really care about that. It's Morning Zoo type bullsh*t. They can yell at Rob Schneider for wearing the wrong color socks for all I care.

What I do care about, however, is the horrible editing job that CBS 12 did, in possession of the full interview tape, picking out the comments and making it appear more of a linear confrontation.

They took the position of the attention-whoring wacky morning crew with Steve and the Fish or whatever the hell they call themselves, and ran with it to create news or controversy where none exist. I guarantee there were at least a couple commercial breaks and a teaser before they aired that bullsh*t clip.

It's purposefully dishonest.

And did he yell "YOU CAN DO IT!"?

Wow. I just listened to the entire interview from the station's website, and I'm going to have to side with Rob Schneider. Those radio hosts are the exact reason why I have Sirius. I agree with CtrlAltDelete on the insincere fake outrage. It's enough to make you want to vomit.

No, just "a" Rob Schneider. Didn't you hear he's available in six-packs now?

DavidKirkBeale 2009-11-18 07:32:20 AM
Schneider was correct in his reactions; he was just giving a crappy morning zoo something to discuss beyond their usual formula of stupid question-fake interest in answer-zany sound effect-plug for comedy show friday night

you can't dilute comedy genius like that. you just can't do it.

But yeah, Schneider was (mostly) in the right on this one. this was re-cut for the the 'wacky pack am morning funtime zoo douches,' and re-cut poorly.

Kinda seemed like he was trying to pull an Andy Kaufman moment.

Star or not, why would you make a guest wait outside the building? Or was that an exaggeration? Morning radio, get that guy a seat and a coffee at least.

I don't particularly care for Rob Schneider, but I don't dislike him either. Just couldn't care for him either way.

But this was absolutely ridiculous. These insecure radio show hosts were completely wrong and appear to have little-to-no interviewing skills, let alone a sense of humor.

And then the hideous editing job channel 12 did is completely unethical and goes to show what kind of "journalists" they have on their staff. They butchered that interview and placed it back together in a successful attempt to make Rob look bad.

Florida what the fark is wrong with you people!

Thanks Fruit Chews. Once you see the whole thing you realize that it was the DJ's who where arses. The chick actually took a phone call during the interview! Schneider was obviously yanking their chain on the waiting in the parking lot thing and the "I could buy and sell you". Also, they kept him waiting while they interviewed a back up dancer that danced for Micheal Jackson!? WTF!

As soon as I heard the "I could buy and sell you," I was praying for somebody to say "I saw the box office grosses for "'The Animal and European Giggolo.' You couldn't buy a Snuggie at Wal-Mart with a coupon...."

THose guys were very unprofessional from the begginning to the end. THey made him wait in a parking lot? Was there not an office or TV room or something for him to wait in. Secondly, could they not see he was joking, and could they not listen to him when he was saying "Im OK with it? Its no problem yada yada, they were so freaking insecure, that it made them incredibly stupid. THey insulted the man. Its not as if this was the first time he ws son a radio station, and its probably not the first time he used schtick similar to this. Therefore I would have to say that the majority of the broadcasters probably have a clue and are professional, unlike these A$$hats.

Curt Blizzah 2009-11-18 11:56:03 AM
That's not as bad as the Rob Schneider asking for directions. I met him, and he was a total douche. So I gave him faulty directions to get him more lost. He kept yelling at his chick the whole time. He had a nice ride, tho (BMW).

/true story, bro

proteon 2009-11-18 12:27:58 PM
In all fairness the dj's seemed like pricks but even the Rogert Ebert link above paints a picture of Schneider as having a lil chip on his shoulder to begin with. Whose fault was Deuce Bigelow? I don't know I didn't see it.

npt [TotalFark] 2009-11-18 12:37:54 PM
Dude, this is entirely three asshole DJs ganging up on the only guy in that room that made early part of the interview entertaining.

He was clearly saying he was joking about most of the shiat he says until they full on call him a jerk and that yappy biatch starts in.

Douches.

THIS

The DJ's (especially the woman) seemed to lose their shiat for nothing. You could tell Rob wasn't thrilled about waiting out in the parking lot, but he wasn't being a douche - he was exchanging some sarcastic banter with them. All of a sudden they ganged up on him, and now everyone is screaming "douchebag!".

mrbach 2009-11-18 01:21:44 PM
The guy only works because Sandler throws him a bone. He doesn't even get that lately.
Hardly in a position to be rude to people.

Douchebag

Like him or not, he is a major celebrity. These doofy morning radio hacks were lucky to get what could have been a really funny segment. But they left him hanging in the parking lot? I would have been pissed off too.

And dude...it's L.A. and you're indoors...the ski hats are just retarded, and they don't make you look even a little bit cool.

Oh man. I fully agree. I hate all of his characters, don't find him even remotely funny, and don't really have an opinion on him as a person. But he was the only person being rational in that interview room. What a bunch of farkin' losers those interviewers were. Seriously. All of his biatching and moaning was obviously a joke, and between the biatching and moaning moments he was being quite polite towards the hosts. They are the ones who threw a hissy fit for no reason.

The best interview with Rob Schneider came many years ago during his SNL days. He was plugging a stand-up gig.

A radio guy who used the fake on-air persona of "The Chucker", a moron who interviews clueless celebrities, damn near makes Schneider cry.

http://rope.92kqrs.com/morningshow/audio/chucker_rob.mp3

Scott the Twat 2009-11-18 04:35:50 PM
Are you guys watching the same interview I was? Schneider was either hung over or going on an hour's sleep and obviously pissed as hell that he had to deign to talk to these guys.

They exaggerated his douchebaggery, but not by much.

DmGdDawg 2009-11-18 05:29:18 PM
Listened to the whole thing. That was a hatchet job. I don't even like Rob Schneider, but the radio people were acting like pricks trying to bait him. He was more restrained than I would have been.
