75 decibel limit? Holy crap. Dublin's run by the angry elderly man next door.

Ironic? Perhaps if Quiet Riot was fined for noise violations.

This is probably the most incorrect usage of the ironic tag in Fark history, which is really saying something.

25 years too late.

Wow, that's so far from ironic that it might have gone far enough away from being ironic to be ironic. Or something.

kruppz 2009-11-17 01:09:00 PM
It had nothing to do with the volume. :)

It's not a fine, it's a tax. That's why the threshold is set so low.

I'm going to defend Subby on the ironic tag.

Irony: an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected.

I believe Submitter's angle is that Dublin, being U2's home down, would expectedly welcome and celebrate U2's concert. Instead, they fined the band. It may be a slight stretch, but I think it still applies.

Yes, it was a stretch; however, thank you.

75 decibels is bullshiat. most concerts run at around 120.

it's only for one night, get over it.

75dB measured from a certain distance of course. like a residential area 1.5miles away. 75dB is about the same SPL as a normal conversation.

Finally someone had the cubes to tell Bono to shut the hell up.
