Hah. What was funniest to me was when the announcer, afterward, said something like, "So it's going to be that kind of a game."

WhyteRaven74 [TotalFark] 2009-11-16 05:27:58 PM
Boise State impressed.

WhyteRaven74 [TotalFark] 2009-11-16 05:41:04 PM
and as I meant to say in the most I made just before, I'm amazed there wasn't a flag on that play. With that much going on, you almost expect someone to screw up.

Epsilon [TotalFark] 2009-11-16 06:24:39 PM
I'm not a Redskins fan, but that was pure awesome.

On one hand it's a shame that you have to resort to that level of trickery to score some points, but on the other hand it's damn fun to watch.

beerrun [TotalFark] 2009-11-16 07:03:35 PM
The big fail for Denver is that Washington lined up in that same formation but had to call a TO cause they messed something up. They tipped their hand, and still came out after the TO and did the same thing, and Denver still got owned by it.

roflmaonow 2009-11-16 07:46:30 PM
Definitely fun to watch. Wonder if we'll get a MNF thread. I'm guessing nobody's going to be watching it in the first place apart from Raven fans.

That was the most awesome play I've ever seen in the NFL. I defy you to prove me wrong.

The first one was pretty cool, but not that unusual. The second play was awesome, awesome, but I could've sworn on both of those plays that there was forward passes that they said were laterals.

I also know about the Catch, the Immaculate reception, and others I can't remember to name. This one was more awesome.

Ok, I forgot about the Tyree catch. That one seals the victory. Best play ever.

Not saying this Redskins play wasn't awesome, but as far as being better than all of the ones I just posted...agree to disagree.

Tyree catch wins it, plain and simple in my opinion.

I almost agree with your original point just based on the amazing execution of the punter. Not only does he have the presence to pump to the right on that rollout, but he launched that ball at least 40 yards in the air cross field perfectly on target to the receiver. What a throw.

Yea that was heartbreaking for the radio announcer.

Stangfreek 2009-11-16 08:22:11 PM
As a Broncos fan the worst part for me was that 10 of the guys on defense did exactly what they needed to do to stop that play...and the one guy that didn't was the guy that needed to most.

MmmCrime [TotalFark] 2009-11-16 08:26:08 PM
I was at the club level of the stadium watching that unfold, and our section was going nuts. That play was amazing to watch.

That was one of the main things I was basing the "most awesome play ever" comment on. That and the fact that I've never even heard of a fake field goal turned into a fake punt before.

MmmCrime [TotalFark] 2009-11-16 08:28:52 PM
As an amendment to my prior post, as a skins fan I'll admit the Tyree catch is absolutely amazing. But I'd say that the Skins play was awesome as a trick play. The Manning-Tyree catch was amazing on a different level.

never odd or even 2009-11-16 08:35:23 PM

I was yelling at my TV when I saw the Skins line up to do it again. Who the hell fakes it on 4th and 20 when the other team sees it coming now? Shows what I know.

/Skins fan living in Denver so I'm getting a kick...

Redskins suck, but that was awesome.

Is this our MNF thread? I don't think we should ask for another thread for this abomination of a game.

With my luck, Cleveland will win

skinink 2009-11-16 08:43:35 PM

Well, it doesn't look like that protest they planned in Cleveland panned out.

Am I ready for some football? Yes, if they are gonna replay yesterday's Colts/Pats game in place of this Cleveland game.

Most likely will be the MNF thread. The thread wont go more than 100 comments is my guess.

I have slept for 19 of the past 24 hours (Thanks Nyquil), and I woke up and took the OVER 39 in tonights game.

If it loses, I'm blaming the nyquil, If it wins, I'm doing this every Monday.

This would be the perfect game for Tony Kornheiser to call.

We don't need to hear about how everyone on the browns is "a FOOTBALL PLAYER" from Jaws.

roflmaonow 2009-11-16 08:51:11 PM
Not that its going to happen but if the Browns do pull a win. I'll have lost half my picks this week.

That would be awesome since I missed the Colts/Pats game due to some lame "connectivity issues," only to finally get everything hooked up to find.... best game ever. DAMMIT

I have it on good authority that Brady Quinn is competent.

If you get juked by a fullback in the flat, you might be a Cleveland Browns defender.

Difference between Flacco and Quinn:

Flacco uses the checkdown as a last resort, Quinn uses the checkdown as his only receiver.

The ravesns should be able to score 39. Cleveland might be good for a field goal.

I guess the Ravens think they get five timeouts in a half.
