I expect the Packers to be throwing the ball a lot more than Minnesota today.

Can New Orleans defeat the unstoppable St. Louis Rams?

That was a very good question in 2001.

rickythepenguin [TotalFark] 2009-11-15 11:02:44 AM
decent week last week, like EVERYBODY i was wrong about the Battle of the Bays (Packers suddenly look like just a decent team instead of the "puncher's chance to win the NFC North" many thought after Week 4, Week 5....

but, my pick of Skins losing by 15, mocked and roundly criticized by many, ended up being a 14pt beatdown at ATL. Other than I don't recall any embarassing picks. The NFL is relatively easy to pick in W/Ls but the lines are tough. when so many bad teams are in the league, these lines of 10+ make it difficult to predict.

At NY Jets -6.5 Jacksonville 41

Jets by at least a TD.

Denver -3.5 At Washington 37

1) TAKE THE UNDER
2) Denver off the short week, on the road....Washington sucks ass....I wonder if maybe this is the proverbial trap game for Denver, with division rivals San Dog coming to town next week. Both teams want to make a statement. Denver: "So we lost two in a row, no biggie, we're looking at you, San Dog, watch us dissect Washington." Wahsington: "OK we might be really, really bad but hey, any given Sunday baby!" I say Washington steals this one somehow.

At Pittsburgh -7 Cincinnati 41.5

I think Cincinnati covers. It was only a three point game when they met in Week 3 or so and I think that was a closing minute FG. Cincinatti is resurgent and Carson Palmer got some jungle karma this week; don't know if any Steelers got any. Cincinatti covers: 80%. Cincinatti wins: 20%.

At Tennessee -8 Buffalo 41

hard to believe Tennessee is favored against anybody the way their season started.

Tenn offense: 20th in team offense
Bills defense: 25th in team d

Bills: 29th in team offense
Tenn: 31st in team defense

uhhhhh.....someone's got to win, I'm gonna say Tennessee.

At Minnesota -17 Detroit 47.5

1) TAKE THE OVER, as Minnesota will have 35 by halftime
2) 17 points. godamn that is a huge number, the biggest i've seen since the Pats' 2007 season when they were setting lines in the 20s as i recall (and the Pats still hitting it). I say Minnesota wins by 20+.

New Orleans -14 At St. Louis 50

kinda the same story as above....STL is 28th in team D, NO is NUMBER ONE in total points (303) and YPG. check this: astounding 427 yards of offense per game. still a dome / turf environment, I think NO goes nuts today and wins something like 48 to 9 or 55 to 13 or some shiat.

this will be the NFL version of last night's Pac/Cotto fight; in the third quarter, the announcers will be like, "you gotta wonder if for no other reason than the Rams' well-being in 15-20 years, the refs don't just stop the game."

Atlanta -1.5 At Carolina 43.5

one month ago this line is ATL -7. my howthings change. I think ATL wins by 5, maybe a TD.

At Miami -10 Tampa Bay 43.5

TB covers.

At Oakland -2 Kansas City 36.5

Not today, KC. I know Oakland kinda sucks at home (1-3, with some monster beatdowns [combined score of NYJ and Denver @ Oakland? 63-3] and the win over Philly), but KC is equally bad on the road.....Oakland by single digits.

At Arizona -8.5 Seattle 46.5

Do NOT like this line....Arizona is only like, 1-4 at home, but I believe perfect on the road. I was saying last week that if this line was set at soemthing crazy like 8-9, it wouldn't be ridiculous; AZ is just not good at home. But, Hasselbeck is still pretty hurt, the pass rush is pretty good, Boldin will play (although how badly did we miss him last week, with Kurt throwing 5TDs to 4 different players, none named Boldin)....Arizona wins but it could be by a FG or it could be by 17. I hate this line.

At San Diego -1 Philadelphia 47

I think Phila wins this one....on the heels of NYG's freefall and the Cowboys suddenly looking like they could be a East force, I think Phila needs to get separation and SD I don't think is as good as they appear. Phila by single digits.

Dallas -3 At Green Bay 47.5

GB has really fallen off, and for the past couple of years, it was the Cowboy's front 4 keeping games honest....GB's line sucks ass. I say Dallas not just wins, but stomps. 12pts plus. And hey let's be honest, this isn't exactly a pressure game for Romo. and we're still 2 weeks away from December. These are the kinds of games Romo has made his "OMG THE QUARTERBACKIEST QUARTERBACK THAT EVER QUARTBERBACKED!" reputation on.

At Indianapolis -2.5 New England 48.5

Indy's D is all kinds of banged up. after today, the Saints will be the sole undefeated team in the NFL.

Baltimore -11 At Cleveland

Big number....lots of dischord in the Cleveland lcoker room. Browns are in bad shape. if the Ravens can punch them in the mouth and manually submit the Browns, they will win by double digits.

but, if the Ravens offense for whatever reason can't get going, 11 is a big number, this could be the kind of game that seems to happen where a shiatty team makes a valiant stand and rallies against a better team. I mean, Tampa Bay last week or Oakland versus Philly a few weeks back.

Just saw that he is active for today's game. I'm in the same dilemma, its either him or Ben Watson against the Colts (at the R/W/T spot). Ugh...

Also, Over_Zealously_Apathetic: Carolina Farkers: Anybody know if D. Williams is gonna go today? I really don't want to have to put in Reggie Bush to replace him...

ESPN: DeAngelo Williams will play According to ESPN's John Clayton, Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (knee) looked good in warmups and is expected to be active for today's game against the Falcons. We'll find out for sure in about an hour.

I think that -7 line is way closer to reality than -1.5. Were I a betting man this is the game I'd lay points on. Look who Atlanta has lost to: New England, Dallas, NO. These are all good to great teams. Carolina lost to Buffalo and I'm not yet ready to trust Delhomme. I'd take Atlanta covering in an instant with this game.

rickythepenguin: Cincinatti covers: 80%. Cincinatti wins: 20%.

So you think there's 0% chance that the Steelers win by 7 or more? ಠ_ಠ

I have my weekly quandary as well, Flacco (against the Browns) or Rivers (against the Eagles)? Going with Flacco, although I'm worried the Ravens won't be throwing all that much against the shiatty Browns...

Is anyone interested in starting a Fantasy-Fark league? We'll draft our favorite Farkers and get points for greenlights and funny comments. It will be loads of basement-dwelling fun, and not nearly as retarded as fantasy football.

It's not even Monday, but already the Browns are down by 16 points (a safety).

Excited for the pit/cin game, go bengals.

As for the raiders vs chefs, I'm just glad Gus Johnson is calling it so it will be somewhat watchable.

So you think the fudgies are gonna loose? As much as it pains me to see either team win, I think the pack win today simply because they're afraid of becoming the next Detroit.

Hmm, a good type of dilemma today

Favre vrs the Lions or
Romo vrs the Packers

you know one of them is going to get 30 FFPs and one is only going to get 20-25

If it were me, I'd go with Favre. The man has averaged over 280 yards and 2 TDs per start versus Detroit in his career.

LT vs Eagles

or

Moreno vs. Skins

I'm screwed this week either way. I have both Andre Johnson and Steve Smith (NYG) on BYE. I figure I need a hail mary and maybe just MAYBE LT can pull off one last miracle game. Moreno has looked mediocre at best so far.

Get an offensive line?!? That bunch of clowns couldn't keep two bulimics away from a toilet. The fact that Rodgers has decent numbers baffles me. 37 sacks in 8 games? It's almost criminal. What's the sacks in a season record? I can't even tell if they are putting in a bad effort or if they're just talentless. Maybe a little of both.
