This is a goddamn joke. It HAS to be.

I wasn't sure until the second time I watched it. When the one on the left said "Ow" and "Ow again" in response to the pull off/twist off removal method, that gave it away.

Liveleak videos don't work for me. Is this a descentant of the IBM "mouse balls" memo from the 1980s? (snopes)

Yep. It sure is.

I used to have a copy of it on IBM letterhead ;)

Pretty much.

I... I... I... I honestly didn't think that people could be this stupid, but then I realized they were white conservative Americans who more than likely worship Glenn Beck.

Ok so this post was just to take a shot at Glenn Beck, but don't worry, Celine Dion is my usual target...

Mouse balls.

ArthGuinness 2009-11-15 12:44:22 AM
My opinion is they definitely knew, especially when they laugh too much when one of them messes up a word.

Besides, why else would they be reading this as a PSA?

As soon as they said it was a memo from a computer company I *knew* what it had to be...

The comments towards the end were priceless.

"See, now this goes back to frustration."

"they get out of control on their own. And when that happens, grab that ball. Either pop it off or twist it."

/ off to go cringe somewhere with his legs crossed.

I think so as well, but one never knows. I once had to gently explain to the CIO of a Fortune 500 company that Lukket's photoshopped "Computer of The Future" was a hoax. He actually had a copy of it tacked to the wall of his office.

The computer in question, in case you're not familiar:

Comedy. Farking. Gold.

They really had no idea, did they?

kaminariko 2009-11-15 02:01:08 AM
I know a few people who can deliver humor in perfect deadpan, complete with ironic allusions and misdirection (e.g. where she says, "...that's what they're called...Field Replacement Units" instead of the expected "mouse balls").

That was pretty damn funny.

At one point in my life I was qualified to sit at both the middle and the right panels of that set up.

Man, that period was one of the lowest of my life.

I'm going with deadpan there, they just had excellent delivery and there were too many timely pauses for it to be anything but a bravura performance.

Agreed, coupled with the "Ow..." for the pop-off and "Ow again..." for the twist-off, I'm going with two old ladies knowing full well what they were saying, doing a fantastic job deadpanning the jokes.

Sweet Jeebus you're right! Obviously I wasn't paying quite as much attention as you were and apparently don't care as much as you do... But hey, thanks for pointing that out. Now if you'll excuse me I'll go find an easy to read definition of 'Sardonic' for you. Don't go anywhere...

OMFG... Where can I e-mail these ladies to tell them how stupid they are?

And to all of you who are saying this was acting/planned/staged/scripted, these ladies are not running a comedy show. They're not devising clever bits for ratings. They're on farking public access!

so many people have problems.....if they're using the Infection Trap windows they are.

with Linux problems, its always a config issue or dead hardware.

with windows, its usually some kind of infection or apps conflicting with other apps.

So you're saying that with Windows, it's usually some kind of config issue then.

This was the only giveaway. Gotta give these ladies credit, they managed that in a single take without so much as cracking a smile. That takes dedication. I sure couldn't do it.

Leave it to Linux_Yes to ruin a perfectly good balls thread.

You guys realize he is actually a pro-MS troll right? Why else would he make linux supporters look so ignorant...
