So... Goth?

So they're going to start imitating the Hasidim?

"Who are you?"
"I'm Frank Costanza's lawyer."

$3750 for a trenchcoat? $950 for a tuxedo shirt? Who are they kidding?

I am waiting for the return of the periwig (new window).

It's a man's rug.

I've got some BIE (bloomers in email) for any man willing to take off his waistcoat.

Does this mean I can start wearing my monocle other than at costume parties...

I HAVE been quietly hoping for the three-piece suit and fedora to make a comeback. Crap, does that make me a hipster douche? If only I'd known...

Can "Whites Only" signs be far behind?

I see where this trend is leading. To stay ahead of the game, I'm investing heavily in powdered wigs.

During my first year of university, I had "my drinking cape" which I wore to the bar all the time. At the time I thought it was pretty awesome.

However, it was a cheap cape from an old Halloween costume and this was back in '99, so please don't associate me with this lame trend.

I kind of like the English cut three piece tweedy stuff and the fur trimmed jackets.

Please tell me you didn't just type that from your brass filigreed, mahogany encased keyboard with the ornate scrollwork parchment holder attachment, did you?

Thrown in a pair of goggles, and you'd be totally steampunk.

I'd rather see Mad Men era clothes come into fashion, than this girly Steam Punk stuff.

The 80's had the worse fashion ever, no style. I take it as a sign, if I presently see anyone in 80's fashion today, it is a clear sign it is someone I don't want to meet. God damn, who things stretch jeans look good on anyone? You want to look like an ice cream cone?

I'm sure the steampunk crowd will be ecstatic. Meanwhile, here's some Foglio lasses in 1890s-style underthings.

btw, I LOVE that some people are going for 80's fashions again. In the past, you might to try to meet someone and not know if they were semi-retarded... now, all you have to do is look at the clothes.

80's type clothes? Cool, go talk to someone else. Already proved to be a douche, or retard, or a follower (see douche/retard).

As a Civil War reenactor, I wholeheartedly support this movement. Especially for women...

"My pantalets, and chemise, and corset, and camisole, and hoop-skirt, and petticoats bring all the gentlemen to the courtyard."

so celluloid collars, spats and sleeve garters are probably next.

I've had that thing in my closet for years! Finally, a chance to gallivant the promenade with my prodigious accoutrement.

Except that most of these greasy, clueless window lickers don't have an ounce of the class or personality it would take to pull of dressing this way. Also ... Um, 'Victorian goths' have been around since the late 70's so ...

BackAssward: btw, I LOVE that some people are going for 80's fashions again.

Really? People are doing that? I'm no fashion guru, but that was an awful era for fashion. I'd like to see a resurgence of the 1950's. Guys wear conservative suits with narrow ties, gals wear long skirts and put cute things in their hair.

Even his eyebrows went up recently when he saw a young man dressed in a bowler, cape, breeches and knee socks on the Lower East Side.

If I find this man, I shall challenge him to a duel. Then kick him in the balls.
