After each call, Turley would hide in a neighbor's yard when police responded, the report said.

The roommate was real enough, the rest was imaginary though.

Have you priced potatoes in the grocery store lately? Especially the red ones. Youth are so wasteful these days!

This would have been more believable if it happened in Pinellas Park rather than Larghetto. But, as long as my county keeps makin the news, I guess it'll bring in the tourists...or keep them out. Either way, the tourists and the scienos have got to go.

I'd really love to see a picture of this guy. He sounds like a winner. And, ladies, I'll bet he's available.

Without the tourists the economy gets worse than it already is here. As for the Scientology folks, what have they done to you? I'm not saying they haven't harmed you, I am asking if they have. I have no problem with them yet, even if I do feel they are rather secretive and are a service oriented religion charging outrageous prices for every service they offer.

He said he made the calls because he was intoxicated and angry at his male and female roommates, the report said.

Cat Food Sandwiches: Then did it get weird?

It's Largo, Florida, so it is weird from the start, weird even before something starts.

when you're in your late teens / early 20's and you get busted doin' dumb stuff like making drunken phone calls, arguing with your roommates, getting a drug paraphernalia charge or two, etc., it's like a rite of passage.

But, when you're 51- you have issues.

Ass Man: But, when you're 51- you have issueslive in the Tampa Baby Area of Florida and blend in with everyone else there.

You're absolutely right, Pinellas needs the tourists. Thankfully, Florida has enough of them and we don't have to pay that fun state income tax thing.

The last time I was home, Clearwater was looking much better now that a lot of the construction is either finishing up or has already completed. Even downtown there where the scientologists are has improved as they've dumped gobs of cash into restructuring the area.

An no, they haven't physically harmed me. I have been approached by them on several occasions and been hassled about why I was there. I guess it's illegal to use a skateboard as a mode of transportation. The main complaint with them being in Clearwater is that they take away a potentially enormous chunk of tax dollars by buying up every square inch of downtown and surrounding water front properties. I mean, hey, it's America and you're free to do what you please (to an obvious extent), but their tactics over the years with respect to the local governments and municipalities is beyond questionable. Mayors always have tackling the scientology issue on their platform and it's always such a shock to see that issue become soon forgotten once they've entered office. I don't know how they do it, but they keep doing it.

Plus, watching people that you know somehow get sucked into the "church" only to have every penny the have sucked from their name and have their lives completely ruined once "they can no longer be helped" is always very disheartening.

On Wednesday afternoon, he was being held in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $250 bail

I'm guessin' he's still in there, unable to post bail.

I have to agree with you they do have some nasty tactics. Just yesterday I was listening to a long time resident tell how Scientology bought the initial land in Clearwater using a front organization and claiming to be the United Churches of Florida or some such bullshiat. But in my personal dealings around here, living in Largo, I have not really had any problem with them. Lived here for four years now. I was just curious if they do hassle the locals much. Thanks for the info.
