Do they have their own stripper poles set up?

Uh, I've looked at the picture in this article 4,578 times and I'm still not sure what the problem is.

From Gawker's article:
"Yes, that sounds pretty distracting. In fact, I would say if a driver making his way down the Strip was watching a DVD of Wall-E on a television screen that covered his entire windshield while simultaneously breaking up with his girlfriend via text message and solving a complex math problem on an abacus he would be only 76% as distracted as if he was watching the stripper-mobile wend its way through Sin City. Imagine seeing the Pope-mobile driving down the road, only the Pope was stripping in it. That's the level of distraction we're dealing with it."

Firedust: Every town, every where needs this.

Some much this, that would be awesome maybe see if I can track the company that's doing this down and see about franchising it.

eas81 2009-11-12 06:49:36 AM
Now can we get to the pics of what a stripper dancing on a pole might look like.

They have concerns about decency? Why did they move to Vegas? fark them.

bobbette 2009-11-12 06:54:15 AM
Why would a couple of mob-connected showbiz guys who drank a lot, hung out in casinos much of their lives, and who consorted with all kinds of mistresses (and in Sinatra's case, hookers) care about some strippers in a van? It's not like Vegas was classier in their day...

Some promoters were doing a thing like this in Montreal a while back, anyway. It's not like it's a new concept. In Mtl, they were actually advertising "beach vacations" I think, by filling the van with sand and having tanned almost-naked people just hanging out in there, looking warm.

When I was there, I was amazed by all the trucks going by with full length ads for escort agencies. This really tops it! I personally wouldn't mind watching somebody's half-naked daughter go by but not in traffic.

And one sudden braking incident later it's a flying trapeze act without the trapeze, net and all of the window!

I have a completely different idea of what "ridiculous" means. In fact, I wish they'd come up with this idea a few months ago, before my Vegas trip.

The first thing I thought was "How funny would it be if the truck had to come to a sudden stop and the stripper fell down?"

seconded. For some perspective, have a look at the Uhaul roller skate bit in the Jackass movie.

Everything about Las Vegas has always been sleazy and ridiculous, not to mention literally insane. The very fact that such a large city exists where it should not is proof that humans beings are deeply irrational animals. The place is un-natural, creepy, and wrong. Now Las Vegas wants to grab water from hundreds of miles away in the Great Basin (^) to sustain its grotesque self. That Las Vegas subsists largely from sleaze and bad carny show biz only makes the spectacle even sicker.

Las Vegas could use some...

This is not new. At a friend's bachelor party we rented a party bus with strippers. Good fun.

Yeah, that Pope visual alone needs a cockpunch or a KHITBASH depending on the nads the author has.

Is she a traffic hazard? If not there is no problem. Of course the ladies might appreciate the occasional male dancer.

If only all states had Nevada's liquor laws. (24/7 if the purchaser is 21. No wet/dry BS. No state owned stores. I'd drop the age to 18 though.)

Kurmudgeon 2009-11-12 08:56:13 AM
In all honest, subby, I think that Dino and Frank would be perfectly ok with stripper mobiles.
They drive up with a girl who takes her clothes off for you, what's not to like? Those 2 were legendary horndogs, after all.....

I suppose it's fitting. Las Vegas is a ridiculous city, so why not dogpile onto it?

I wouldn't be particularly worried about strippermobile stripper health given the snail's pace of the traffic on the strip.

Spoken by a denizen of California's Inland Empire, another seedy and un-natural product of the modern American orgy of unsustainability.

Vegas has always been the get-away for sin place. Gambling, drinking, strippers, & whores just outside of town (legal ones). Stop moving here and trying to goodie 2 shoes up the place asswipes.

I live in Vegas and I drove by this vehicle parked behind the Deja Vu nightclub the other day, and I was like "What? No way..." and this article confirms that "Yes, Indeed. Way." I think it's pretty cool. I have yet to actually see the Stripper-Mobile in action though.

I lived in South Florida several years back. The first weekend I was there, I decided to take a drive down to Miami.

Driving down I-95, I notice a monster SUV driving up ahead with two TV screens mounted where the sun flaps were. And a third screen in back. And... is that porn they're showing? I speed up a little bit to see... Could that be porn? It IS porn!! OMG I'm going to hit that car in front of me in 5 seconds!

So I hit the brakes, check the rearview, decelerate from 85 down to about 65. I need to pay better attention. Just take it easy, go slow for a bit.

About 10 seconds later, though, I get a funny feeling. The car in the passing lane is also doing about 65, not passing me. I glance over and in the front seat, a hooker is giving the driver a blow job.

Welcome to Miami.
