Looks funny to me.

I'll go on record as saying that didn't look half as bad as I thought it'd be.

/I still have no interest in seeing it, though

Nothing will top the Trovolta/Williams fail. This actually looks ok and it's got Olivia Munn. Growl!

That looks like fun. Not the Greatest Movie ever Made but fark it ... I'll likely have fun watching it. Subby should lighten up.

Do we get to see Tina Fey naked?

jonbasini 2009-11-11 11:02:20 PM
The only way to make this fail even further is to include a cameo w/
Will Ferrell.

YES

I can't agree more lostinspace1978. Nice to see a McPoyle get some movie work.

I want to have sex with Olivia Munn so badly, it actually makes me furious when I realize that I'm never going to be able to. I experienced a similar emotional rollercoaster after seeing those Maxim photos of Christina Aguilera about 5 years ago.

Antidamascus: Do we get to see Tina Fey naked?

It was like 2 frames but it looked like she was in her underwear on a stripper pole. Too bad about Carrell getting in the shot.

I really like the actors in this movie.

Yet I have no desire to see them in this movie.

Poor Nickelback. They try so sincerely to sound "hard," and it just ends up sounding silly.

I know this is fark and we're supposed to hate everything, but I have no problem admitting I'll rent that.

You may now add my skull to the skull throne.

It'll be fine. Carrel and Fey look like they have great chemistry together and that's what a movie like this lives or dies on.

I might see it being a fan of Tina Fey and Steve Carrell. We'll see though.

Olivia Munn is the living definition of "unfunny" and "trying too hard."

I'll wait until it's on CineMax and I have some time to kill before an appointment with the dentist. That's honestly the only scenario I can think of in which I'd see this and say "Oh, I am watching this now."

How can Munn, Carrell, Franco and Kunis not be win?

Do we have to hate everything without ever seeing it, based on a trailer, right off the bat? Do we?

Because that's where I gotta step off.

drewkumo 2009-11-12 01:15:02 AM
Dr. Nick Riviera: Poor Nickelback.

Stop it. You can't have sympathy for these people.

You have to handle them like a rabid, wounded possum. Step on its head until the crunch comes.

Everyone on Fark busts on Nickleback but they do pretty good strip club music. Their sentimental stuff sucks ass badly true but they have a niche and its OK that they try to step out of it occasionally even if they fail.

I hate you, too.

I think I can write the first paragraph of the review right now:

"Steve Carell and Tina Fey transcend a painfully unfunny premise in 'Date Night,' a new comedy filled with very old cliches that manages to entertain thanks to the energy and likability of its two stars."

zodar99 2009-11-12 03:09:55 AM
"Cash Grab"

coming soon to HBO

in 14 months you will hit the "Info" button and say, "I didn't know Steve Carell and Tina Fey did a movie together."

this
"Is a clay rock drop on the man head, hard hat fly off and everything. When we look on him you could see that inside of his head mash up cause him even a bleed through him nose."

They spent a week filming this in front of my building. Not around the corner, not down the block, but right in front of the goddamned front door, all night long.

Not that that tells me anything about the film itself, but I can say, in person Tina Fey is very petite, very pretty. Steve's Carrell's nose is like a sword thrusting from his face. It's huge. Anytime you see him in profile, rest assured that a Special Effects team has lopped at least a third of it off in post. Now I know why they tend to shoot him 3/4 with a very long lens... He's gonna put someone's eye out with that.

The movie doesn't look bad at all, except that Steve Carrell grates on me
like I was a block of peccorino romano cheese at an Olive Garden.

I didn't realize that was Olivia Munn, but her momentary presence isn't
enough to get more than a meh out of me.

The trailer for Slammin' Salmon looks like it might create some sort of anti-comedy singularity.

I'll forgive them for cashing it in this time, but they are going to have to put the suck on hold for a while after this one.

I love 30 Rock and the Office, but this looks meh.

The Whore Of Mensa 2009-11-12 10:03:20 AM
they were on the 1 train in the last shot of the trailer-- didn't the 1/9 get absorbed into the 2/3 around 2004?

Gee, the old mistaken identity plot, which always plays out like the witnessed a murder/drug deal/both plot. It should've died long before the Jerkie Boys movie.

/remember them?
//i'm sorry.

BEER_ME_in_CT [TotalFark] 2009-11-12 01:43:04 PM
Looks like a movie I can classify as a borderline chick flick. My wife and I will watch it and the next time she brings up watching a movie SHE wants to see, I'll have some ammunition. Some other movies that worked that way; Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Duplicity, & the Heartbreak Kid.

/could be a fun movie

You fantasize about getting lapdances from Steve Carrell? Wow. To each their own, I guess.

Architecture Of Aggression 2009-11-12 02:41:42 PM
yeah, you know that people like Carrell and Fey really needed the cash. now they can eat.

Hmmm forget Travolta and Williams - is anyone else absolutely sick of Seth Greens shiat? He has to be the least funny person working in comedy right now.

I may have to steal that.
