Who would you rather have regulating it? Most other industries have something like that. I don't see why the product has anything to do with whether or not an industry can self regulate.

mutterfark 2009-11-11 11:08:50 PM
Very little I'd guess. Why don't we just flat out legalize it and see?

Cartels are still operating here, just now as quasi-legal entities. It's disgusting.

A bold step in the right direction, as law (considering how much money the government can make off of it, I'm surprised they kept up the losing war for so long), but it needs strict regulation. Smoking and alcohol regulations would be nice to imitate (save for the fact that it's still easy to provide to those that have no business dabbling with the materials); this current setup is still lacking.

If cartels are the problem then give cannabis seeds to absolutely everyone and tell them it is their patriotic duty to grow them. The only way to stop a violent black market entity is to make so their market does not exist any more.

Want to police themselves, huh... that ought to work about as well as the banking systems self-control. Or perhaps Wall Streets.

Growing from seed is inconsistent. Growers clone from cuttings for a reason.

The quality has been awsome.Prices climbing.

I don't have a card but benefit from those that do.

Cities are trying to police it now, with too early to tabulate results.

/End the facade - just legalize it.

That makes no sense. It's about as logical as the police policing themselves.

Well, are both human, thus prone to the same wants and failings? Though debatable in the case of the bank managers, who appear more akin to vermin, yes. Yes they are.

The sad truth is, no agency that polices itself can be expected to do so impartially. This goes in double measure for Law Enforcement. And while the medical marijuana people are less prone to causing great destruction if their methods of self control are less than adequate, except to the nations supply of Funions, the outcome should not be expected to be any better than that of the financial world.

Well the impression I get from the article is that they want to do things proper and professionally so that the government doesn't see the need to step in anymore than they already do. I don't think there's any harm in letting them try to make their business more legitimate, if only to ease the concerns of the businesses near dispensaries.

How disingenuous is it to keep inserting the word "medical" in front of "marijuana" all the time these days.

I find the idea of medical marijuana to be laughable. Anyone with a brain knows that it's simply a smoke screen devised in order to push full legalization. If medical marijuana laws are nationally accepted, the next thing you know, our street corners will be clogged with hippies reeking of patchouli and playing bongos. Naturally, the responsibility for this will be passed to the left, and they'll suddenly find themselves in a real tough scrape.

Medical marijuana is coming up for a vote in my municipality soon which has me wondering... Can i bus people in from other counties in order to shoot this proposal down? I sure hope so, as I'd hate to see these half-baked laws see the light of day!

And where, oh where, have we all heard these words before?

simkatu 2009-11-12 12:20:07 AM
Nothing will go wrong with it. Marijuana doesn't kill anyone.

Unlike Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, and Everclear which can be purchased by the hundreds of bottles at a time, enough to kill off 50 or more college age hazing victims.

Decriminalize then legalize the damn stuff and we won't need to worry about it any more and we can release some one million people from jail that have done nothing but choose to use a recreational drug that is safer than alcohol.

i live in boulder, and it's kind of strange how many of these places just popped up over night. a lot of them are making medical claims though. can't wait until they get shut down for that.

i'm just jaded though since there were already enough god damn hippies here BEFORE this shiat started.

Well not everyone wants to spend all that time taking cuttings, trimming skin, adding rotting hormone, wrapping in paper towels, then keeping in either peat moss or perlite.

Sadly I don't know anything about cloning pot. I just work in a nursery and have a working idea of how to clone other plants and assume it's the same.

You would think having herb around your music shop would be good for business. I would open up a "listening" room in the back and put in water fountains that dispensed Hi-C
