Hey guys! I'm magical. Want proof?

As effective as a cup of coffee, without the crash or jitters!

You might crap yourself, though.

As someone that almost gets run over by CTA buses at least once every other week, this is not a shock. They make Chicago cab drivers seem safe. Couple the CTA drivers with the idiotic wastes of space Traffic Management people that stand on the corner and get paid to do nothing but possibly get pedestrians run over and I get all kinds of Walkers Rage. I have even shaken my fist... the horror.

/Chicago, our corruption is more obvious than yours, but we get away with it.

my girlfriend moved to chicago in the fall, so I'm getting familiar with the city. I like the public library very much. I dislike pretty much everything else. (and here I thought boston was corrupt)

What's the saying?...When you are driving you hate pedestrians. When you are walking you hate drivers. But everyone hates bikers.

People don't realize you can't see everything when you're driving a 40+ foot bus. I was on a bus one time and it pulled the front end over to pickup a passengers. Took about 3 or so minutes for all passengers to board.

When the drive swung out some idiot had parked his car towards the back of the bus and all you heard was the crunching metal sound.

And in recent years RIPTA has run over a few people too. It's not that the drivers are homicidal, just that you can't see EVERYTHING from the drivers seat.

Did you look at the pic in TFA? Or in this thread for that matter? That house didn't sneak up behind the bus while it was picking up passengers. She farking drove head-on into a brick wall! Don't try and defend this driver, there's literally no way this isn't her fault.

Or do you walk to work in a major city every day and have to dodge these idiots that think they own the road - I get it that they can't see everything, but if that is the case you need to hire better, safer drivers. When I have the walk sign and am about to cross the street and a bus decides to turn right as I am three steps from the curb they expect me to jump back because if I don't I become pizza - and not the good Chicago kind - the flat New York style. Or the big f'ing accordion buses decide to cross three lanes to get to the left turn lane and then run the red and come to a dead stop blocking all traffic because they turned the corner too wide and expect other cars in grid lock to back up to let them through and at the same time block the way for pedestrians - yeah, its because they can't see.

The #36 I was riding on took off a car's front bumper last week. I'm about a half hour walk from work, so I normally don't even bother with the CTA. It's nice having two buses and the red line within a couple of blocks, but at $2 a pop, it's generally not worth taking for a mile and a half.
