Mickelson made an 18-footer to save par on the 16th after whiffing on a flop shot, then holed a 10-foot birdie putt on the 17th to close with a 3-under 69 and overcome a late charge by Ernie Els, who was in the lead until hitting into the water and making bogey on the final hole.

Ernie Els hasn't won in like 10 years or something but he always manages to play well-enough to stay high on the world rankings.

Figures that for at least the 2nd time just this year he's grab defeat from the jaws of victory.

What're the odds that two different people who grab defeat from the jaws of victory on a regular basis would be in the top 2? :)
