Usually when I hear about someone working at a job like this claim they are an "artist", I expect the art to either suck or involve some combination of bodily fluids and repulsive nudity. I'm pleasantly surprised that this one actually has talent.

Her web site makes it sound like she paints in the store, but I couldn't tell if she is still working as a barista, painting on breaks or if she just paints there for fun.

If the coffee shop is a chain with enough advertising budget, they ought to hire her as an artist and have her paint in various stores. I imagine the added sales from the crowds it would draw would cover a good chunk of her wage, and the advertising effect would be great.

Sure this reproduction of Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam is a lil' bit perverted by the inclusion of a coffee cup, but look closer. The entire masterpiece was painted using only coffee

Ah yes, on closer inspection it's clear that the color brown is unique to coffee. Brown dwarf stars are fueled by chemical reactions between various species of alien coffee plants more massive than the Earth.

Finally, a use for coffee, wonder how much the pictures stink of bean drippings.

Caffeine is fine, although I gave it up for sleep issues. Just the disgusting bean drippings I can't stand.

Family thinks I'm a heretic too :)

They may be the best I'll ever see, but do I really want to see them, will it be a waste of my time, and would I rather see the original masterpieces than someone with a cheap gimmick?

I like her work, but the perspective on the coffee cups she adds is pretty bad.

I'm surprised by this. The "art" I usually see posted on Fark involves something anyone can do. I rather doubt that the majority of us could reproduce this.

THIS

It shows that she can painstakingly copy another image but when it comes to adding anything by her own hand she falls flat.

I live in Tulsa and got to see these in a coffee shop a few years ago and they're really great to see up close. She has very good detail. I agree on the coffee cup perspective though...not so great.
