RTFA dork, Iraq has imported food for a long time. The ministry is notorious for importing bad food.

And while your at it, maybe Iraq should not have invaded Kuwait right? Maybe they should have fought their own revolution to displace the tyrant in charge. Maybe they shouldnt base their culture on tribalism, maybe they shouldnt participate in such a backwards frickin religion, maybe they should reverse a thousand years of stupidity in their region instead of trying to blame it all on america while they are simultaneously asking for our money to fix the problem.

Honestly we are like the plumber who arrives at the house to find the owner has used concrete to clean the pipes. When we tear the pipe out and replace it the owner becomes angry that the bill was too high and blames the plumber.

Clean your own damned dirty toilets and leave our money out of it.

/its early so my flame mojo is low

The problem is dependence on someone else for your food supply.

This is a totally accurate analogy, if the plumber kills half of the family and demolishes half of the house in the process of replacing the pipe.

But hey, they're just a bunch of ungrateful sand people, amirite?

As Iraq Surplus Rises, Little Goes Into Rebuilding

"Soaring oil prices will leave the Iraqi government with a cumulative budget surplus of as much as $79 billion by year's end, according to an American federal oversight agency. But Iraq has spent only a minute fraction of that on reconstruction costs, which are now largely borne by the United States."

The article I quote from is over a year old, but I think that it is still germane to the discussion that will probably ensue.

Subby is a cock-face. The people are unhappy with the fact that the central government is importing shiatty spoiled food.

Let me break this down to you and your fellow mouth breathers:

1) The Iraqi central government is responsible for purchasing the food from various countries.
2) Corrupt dickholes in the Trade ministry buy absolute shiat food from another dickhole. They charge the state the full price.
3) Dickhole at the Trade ministry gets a kickback.

People aren't "ungrateful" for food, like your troll headline would lead someone to believe. They are just tired of the corruption which lines the pockets of officials at the trade ministry and leaves them with bags of food with dead rodents in it.

So yeah, I could see how someone could be "unhappy" about that.

Maybe we should get out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Leave the bastards to fester. If they can't put a peaceful, honest government in place, then they can't. If they attack our interests, we blow them to hell and back, from the sky, without risking as many American lives. Fark UN sanctions, fark strongly worded letters. On our way out, we air drop a billion flyers over each country, letting them know that if one of them attacks US interests, they will all pay for it, dearly. Maybe then they will police themselves and root out the jackasses that want to crash planes into towers and what-not.

Yeah, I know, broad brush and all that, but seriously, fark them all. We've got enough of our own shiat to deal with.

Christ! Ungrateful farkers.

We go to all the trouble to invade their country, kill off 100,000 people, build a permanent Forbidden City in the middle of their capitol and plunge the country into a civil war that will leave it scarred and in a position to end up with a worse dictator than Saddam was in the first place (assuming we don't just generously install a tyrannical Shah), and they have the nerve to complain about the spoiled rations our satrap provides them?

Imagine!

Or, maybe some of you could actually read the article, instead of grabbing your flag-tattooed Patriot Scrote® and railing against government spending and ungrateful Iraqis.

"Corruption at the Baghdad Trade Ministry is an important issue in Iraq because the ministry is in charge of the food-rationing system on which 60 percent of Iraqis depend. Officials at the ministry, which spends billions of dollars buying rice, sugar, flour, and other items, are notorious among Iraqis for importing food that is unfit for human consumption for which they charge the state the full international price."

Imagine that. The Iraqi government -- absent any funding from the United States Government -- is buying substandard food for Iraqis while paying full "no, there are no dead mice in this food" prices for it. Christ, subby. You didn't even try to read or understand the article

The OP claimed it was people's fault if they couldn't put a stable government together, to which I replied they weren't the ones that removed out the previous leaders from power. I said nothing of the quality of the former leaders or their policies. Thanks for playing though. Nice ad hominem thrown in for flavor ,too.
