Republicans, conservatives, and Fark Independents™ have traditionally been staunchly against following the advice of so-called "experts". Will this tradition hold now that Barking Moonbats hold the Reins of Power? Let's listen in...

Hardly a difficult question. It only took me a minute to solve that little mystery.

You mean theyre going to spend money on something that will be used? My god, is it too late to vote for McCain?

I don't want any money spent on stuff for people! It should be put to good use padding the bank accounts of rich people!

All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume the footbridge is so people can walk from one place to another.

Because, obviously, they can't afford to do any upkeep or improvements to their stadium and parking lots. Duh.

Magorn 2009-11-07 11:48:47 AM
Well I'm going to take a flyer on this but I'm betting that the The Bridge connects a pair of parking lots separated by a large potentially dangeous road, and that road is probably one of the main ways cars leave the Patriot's stadium, and so currently the 10's of thousands of pedestrians who cross that road snarl the egress of traffic from the stadium, not to mention occasionally endangering the ives of pedestrians who try to cross against the signal; so the Mass DOT decided to spend a relative pittance to improve safety and traffic flow, saving Pat's fan far more than $9 mil in gas tht they usually waste idling waiting to get out of the stadium

Except in massachusetts, where the republicans are all registered democrats, for real.

You know what they should have done in the stimulus bill? They should have said, right in the bill, what all the money could be spent for. Each project should have been listed there so we knew exactly what was being spent and for what.

Not a bad return on his investment of $257,250 for Kraft. A $9M improvement to one of his businesses. I wonder how much it increased the value of the Pats.

I wish the government would spend that kind of money on my business.

Every time I see the phrase "stimulus money," I read it as "slush fund." Then things make more sense.

This just in: If you're going to lobby, lobby the people in power. I'm not sure if you've heard, but Massachusetts leans slightly to the left. Just slightly. (new window)

Or....Why do they spend any money on signs that remind us that the headache on my roadway was funded by the stimulus. I guess they can say that they gave sign guys a job....for a few days.

SCUBA_Archer 2009-11-07 12:30:21 PM
Since this is Massachusetts I'm surprised they aren't lobbying for a $10B pedestrian tunnel to the airport.

And why should my tax money help pay for this?

This is insane. Seriously WTF? Fark them, they can afford to pay for thier own farking ramp. And liberals in this thread have explained why the ramp was needed, but not why we paid for it.

Why? Because there is no explanation. Just ridiculous.

Yes. Eight times a year, tailgate hopping will be less strenuous.

I'm sure lots of normal folk can easily afford to attend Pats games regularly as well.

Some of the others pointed out how stupid you are already, so I'll just add how hilarious it is you complain about how Obama supporters "never question the one" ect ect and then when a supporter is critical of something you're still bitter and dismissive.

It sucks that something in your life angers you to the extent you act out, very irrationally on the internet.

Uhhh yeah, but you see the thing is, Kraft owns both lots that this economy stimulating footbridge will be connecting. So, essentially, this $9 Mil is being used to pad the bank account of a rich dude.

Tax money spent on professional sports always pisses me off. And they always get away with "but we create jobs and bring $ to the city!" Bull shiat. The jobs you create, are minimum wage concession stand jobs, and the money you bring into the city is minuscule compared to the cost of keeping you in town.

Money paid to the city of Indianapolis by the Indiana Pacers last year for using Conseco Field House: $1.00 for the entire farking year.

So the bill would've been about 250000 pages instead of just 2500.
