can't say I'm surprised. But I'm sure he'll land somewhere. He's got talent and versatility.

Just based on stats and potential and age he should be 10-12 million a year guy. Based on his pure unadulterated assholishness you have to wonder what a hit he's going to take and what team is going to take him.

My bet is that he'll be a Ranger or Oriole next year on a one year deal.

Not as much as you would think. Granted would Micah Owings have a job if he couldn't hit? But would anyone still consider Randy Johnson as a viable free agent if hitting meant anything?

The Rangers have been getting pretty good lately at taking players nobody else will touch, getting them to behave and/or play well long enough to get someone interested, and then trading them just before they have another meltdown. As a Rangers fan, I'm cool with this.

I used to date some chick named Crack Ho Park that claimed she got beat up by her big league pitcher ex-husband.

I can't say this surprises me all that much. Here's to hoping he can land somewhere else and be successful without giving his team (or wife) a black eye. I still hope Philly destroys him any and every time we face him, but that's just me. Myers did well in Philly and has a ring that he deserves.

Now he's going to be the enemy.

/also hoping Pedro Feliz becomes the enemy... or at least the enemy while not wearing a Phillies uniform at the time.

Well put. I'm a little sad that Amaro's absolute first order of business this off-season wasn't to tell Feliz to hit the farkin' pike. I'm still depressed from this week's loss, but picking up Chone Figgins would go far toward helping me start thinking about next season excitedly.

Lee being around another year (go go long term deal?) and the possibility of Hamels and/or Lidge pulling their heads out of their asses excites me enough as is... even if Kendrick's likely to be back as our number 5 starter.

But yeah, eliminating the reverse-Dorn hole at third base would be even better.

You don't need to be a real "clone" to know the reference; it seems like Rome jams it down the viewers' throats at least once a week on JRIB.

I had typed out a response to this in which I said that you shouldn't be fooled by his 2008 NLDS at-bat against Sabbathia and his game 2 of the 2008 NLCS against the Dodgers (in which he got 2 hits), and that he sucks as a hitter ... and then I saw what you did there. Got it.

i'm thinking they might actually give drabek a shot at the #5 spot in spring training. they're pretty high on that kid. that makes a rotation of:

lee
hamels
blanton
happ
drabek/moyer?/kendrick?

that stands up pretty well against any other rotation in the league if hamels pulls his head out of his ass (as has already been mentioned)

i'd have liked to see them keep myers on as a reliever though. we could use some lidge insurance.....

Does Pedro or Moyer have any shot to be on the Phils in 2100?

Love his line to Amaro: "I was just like, 'OK, thanks for putting up with my shiat.'"

Hamels' problem isn't in his head. Its his '08 innings pitched. The Verducci effect. Same thing happened to Mike Pelfrey. That or he just decided to pitch ineffectively all year
