The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) said greater steps must be taken to raise awareness of the cliffs among students
It is simply not possible that there are human beings on this earth who take themselves as serious members of an organization called The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
FTFA: Police appealed for information and said they were particularly keen to speak to a young American man who is believed to have spoken to the victim minutes before his death.
"Yeah, it's a great shortcut to the beach. Trust me. No, those signs don't mean anything, just climb over those high railings and head on down about 60 feet."
I'm sure it's a terrible slur on the poor young man, but at 1:30am when he was heading to a party one suspects the presence of alcohol. All the people who have fallen the wrong way at this beauty spot in recent times have been students from out of town. Still, that doesn't exempt them from having a basic understanding of the laws of gravity and the difficulties of arriving on some rocks having taken the fast route down.
It is said to be close to the Old Course, but everything in St Andrews is close to the Old Course since it's such a small place. Maybe the best thing is to remove all the fences and walls and simply let those who want to fall, and those who don't be.
But the sad truth is that people die. Some through ill-advised actions, some through no fault of their own. Lots of us have had plenty of near misses, but for this guy it was too near, and he didn't miss.
Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents? I wonder if they receive government money. These must be the people who influenced denmark to fund an ad campaign promoting helmets for pedestrians.
Sometimes it must be difficult Not to feel as if you really are a cliff When fascists keep trying to push you over it! Are they the lemmings, or are you Cliff? Or ARE you, Cliff?

Police said the incident happened at 1.35am on Friday morning and the student's body was washed up on the shore near the St Andrews Sea Life Centre 90 minutes later.
Somewhat ironic that the dead body would wash up near the Life Centre, wot?

I picture them sitting in the parlor having tea.
ROSPA1: Dreadful things those cliffs.
ROSPA2: Indeed. Quite dangerous.
ROSPA1: One must be careful near them. I do so care for safety.
ROSPA2: Yes, accidents are such terrible, terrible things. One certainly must be careful. More milk?
ROSPA1: Please. And let us move on from such ghastly business.

The student is understood to be the fifth person to die in recent years at the beauty spot close to the Old Course.
