(Rock Band Aide) Rock Band 3 will include more realistic instruments, teach you how to really play. At this rate, rock band 4 will include heroin and shotgun peripherals and brain-splatter decals for your wall
GAT_00:I was wondering if someone would make a full fret board. Fun stuff.
That guitar image is from a Cracked photoshop contest, FYI.
I'd be heavily surprised if that is actually what it turns out to be. For one thing, do any of the game systems even support that many buttons on a device?

Sure, both the 360 and the PS3 are essentially just highly modified PCs. They both use USB connectors and can communicate with other multi-key devices, such as keyboards. No reason they couldn't do this with the right software.
soze:If I wanted to actually play a guitar I'd pull one off my wall.
If only the rest of us were so cool as to have guitars readily available on the wall.
How about this? This game probably isn't for you. However, if it can actually be made in such a way as to teach someone how to play a real guitar and that, in turn, encourages musical interest in a person who might not have otherwise had that interest, then it seems like a good thing.
HawgWild:I've never seen the appeal of this game. If you want to play a song on the guitar, then teach yourself the song on the guitar!
Someone explain this fad to me, please.

If learning a song on guitar were as easy as you make it out to be, there would be no Guitar Hero. However, teaching yourself how to play "Through The Fire And Flames" by Dragonforce isn't something you can just decide to do with no training.
So, instead of paying for guitar lessons, practicing for years, and then playing that song, they can pick up a plastic guitar and get that feeling without the bleeding fingertips.

But that's the point! You learn/teach yourself a skill. And chicks dig it.

I play a little myself... although I find that so many people play guitar that chicks don't dig it that much, at least not as much as they used to. I mean, if I go to a party, there are probably 5 people there that play guitar. It's not a unique skill anymore.
Anyway, my point was that people who don't want to learn how to play guitar can still get the feeling of playing with Rock Band.

Also, you can't play Rock Band when the power goes out. That's why Jesus invented the acoustic guitar.

That was exactly what I did last time the power went out. I lit up the hookah, sat outside, and played every song I could think of on acoustic guitar.
I'm not very good, so it didn't take very long, but it was enjoyable.

To quote a certain misanthrope, "People choose the paths that grant them the greatest rewards for the least amount of effort." In other words, why waste your time learning to play a real guitar when you can skillfully play a fake plastic and have a similar experience one at a fraction of the cost and effort?

BTW Beatles Rock Band is underwhelming. :( But maybe that's because I cut my teeth on GH3 for difficulty. Or I need friends who will play video games with me, either way.

you can get loaded, pretend to play the guitar and it sound like you are in a Rock Band, rather than a drunk, unskilled 'tard.
