(MSNBC) House Democrats can't track down enough votes to pass health care Saturday, even after using K9s to sniff out hiding members, so the vote may not come until early next week
The bill will ultimately pass the House. Pelosi will not allow a vote to take place until she has her votes, and the instant she does, the vote will take place.
It's pretty much a matter of who's a yes and who's a no. But Pelosi will not allow the bill to die on her side of the chamber.
However, if Republicans use procedural tactics to push the vote back, or to try and poison the bill, Hoyer wants them to be on notice that they could get called back for a vote on Sunday afternoon, Monday, or even Tuesday--the day before Veterans Day.
"Clearly, things happen, and delaying tactics can be employed...all I've done is make sure everybody understands that we're going to complete this effort," Hoyer said.
It's amusing that Subby's reduced to trying to concern troll the inevitable passage because it might happen in 3 or 4 days instead of tomorrow.
FishyFred:No. The vote won't happen until next week because they have to vote on all of these farking amendments.
Choke on it, wishfulthinkingmitter.
Wrong. The sticking points are only two. Abortion funding, in or out. Illegal immigrants, in or out. You leave either in, you lose a certain amount of votes. You leave either out, you lose a certain amount of votes. The trick is how to get to 218 votes.

jebus farking christo on a tap dancing pogo stick. why the fark can't the dems ever get thier shiat together? the only thing i envy the republicans is their ability to force their policies down our collective throats. why the fark can't our side get it done?
I think we can all--regardless of political affiliation--get behind proposed amendment #138.
Should not have had to been an amendment. That should have been in the first draft of every bill that included the Public Option. If it's not good enough for Congress, it's not good enough for the people.

Why? The bill doesn't mandate that anybody be forced onto the public option, only that they have the choice. That same choice is given to members of Congress as it is to anyone else.

Because they are more concerned about getting reelected than anything else?

And I'm sure those don't have anything to do with a delay. Bachmann's are, of course, particularly amusing.
