(Asbury Park Pres) "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." However, flipping your mail truck after getting into a collision with a Civic is a valid excuse
I wonder if this is where all the lost parcels I've sent to Amazon Marketplace customers have been going?
You don't really hear about it too much when USPS vans get in accidents -- I'm guessing it happens with fair frequency.
I'm also kind of suspecting a clerk at a post office was bullshiatting me and telling me my stuff was onboard a flipped semi that we can't find any evidence of having been in such supposed accident...
I hope the postal worker is OK. I guess all the Obama stimulus checks will be late !! Oops I am sorry , there won't be any checks in Manalapan , all the checks go to Newark , Camden ,Trenton and Paterico.
I used to be a carrier, and these vehicles are crap. They're built on Chevy S10 chassis with shortened wheelbase and narrowed front track, which makes the handling twitchy. Glad I never had to do any evasive maneuvers in one! Aluminum bodies made by Grumman; I recall there was some sort of pissing match between the USPS and Grumman and at one point the vehicle maintenance guys were told to remove all the Grumman logos from them.
Don't even get me started on their performance in snow; I got stuck more times than I care to recall.
All it took to stop my mail being delivered was two inches of snow on the front walk. Although he was somehow able to battle through to leave a note telling me why my mail wasn't there.

Is this one of those mini truck things? It's hard to tell from the picture, and from not having seen many flipped-over postal trucks before.
I'd still like to see one of these with a big-block chevy in it at the racetrack. Preferably with me in it.
