That was the line that killed me. I was giggling that entire scene and that line popped the cork.

Yeah, I have to say I'm really enjoying Community. It's not consistently good, but I usually get a couple belly laughs every show. And the cast is terrific.

Parks and Rec is funny, but without Jay Leno, it would have been the least humorous show in NBC's primetime line-up last night.

It's Always Sunny... and The League on FX were also funnier, so who knows what the hell subby has been smoking.

This bears repeating....Community has really drawn me in.

As an Amy Poehler fan I'm glad the show is finding itself. Community is also doing better faster than I expected.

Ron running out of the library with a push-pin in his forehead is still making me laugh.

I just can't get into Community - I don't like any of the characters. They have funny moments, but there's no one one that show who draws me in. McHale is just not a charismatic lead; he feels like a standup comic just going through his bits.

And I will retain my self imposed moratorium on TBBT.

IT has all the markings of one of those shows that will get better as the writers really expand the quirky characters and if the studio will give it time.

You're in the right place. TFD is where the outcasts from other communities gather. If you're a TFD outcast, I believe that constitutes rock bottom.

I have tried and tried to like Parks and Rec. I love Amy Poehler, I worked for years for a city rec department and I do consulting work on a giant parks project now, so I was excited about it. I find myself trying to force out laughter, so I've stopped watching it.

The first season was pretty bad. I also wanted to like it, but quit watching it after a couple episodes. I was a a friends house for the season premier this season and I enjoyed it. I've been watching this season and I think it's head and shoulders above last season. If you haven't watched it since then, it might be worth a second look.

This.

Season 1 - terrible
Season 2 - best comedy on TV

I don't mind if people don't like P&R. But I hate it when people bash it based on just having seen season 1.

Ron Swanson is a great character, and in real life is married to Megan Mullally, who played his exwife in last night's episode.
You notice how many shows are doing the Office-Mockumentary format now?

Besides The Office, there is Parks & Rec, Modern Family and probably some more I can't think of. I doubt Ricky Gervais knew he was influencing an entire generation of comedy when he created The Office back in 2001.

brilliant episode. i sprayed gin and tonic through my nose upon seeing ron swanson't torn mustache at the end. absolutely farking hilarious.

Arrested Development was mockumentary style, but with no talking heads.

2. Whenever Creed is talking on the Office
3. How I Met Your Mother
4. Community
5. Whenever Creed is not talking on The Office
6. The Middle
7. Parks and Recreation

For my money Curb is the funniest show this year.
Honourable mention goes to Sunny.

The Office and South Park have each had a couple really great episdoes, but they can't compare to Debbie wheelchair and kitten mittens.

30 Rock is getting old fast and Big Bang Theory is going to lose me pretty quick if it doesn't tone down the laugh track

NASAM 2009-11-06 02:00:11 PM
1. Modern Family
2. Big Bang Theory
3. It's Always Sunny in Philly
4. 30 Rock
5. The Office (this season has been the weakest, but I expect it'll pick up)
6. Community

I'm leaving off Curb Your Enthusiasm because it's HBO, otherwise it'd be #1 or 2.

I gave up on P&R after season 1. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

I need to DVR The League, I keep missing it.

I really tried to like Parks and Rec because I was desperate for ANYTHING to replace Kath and Kim.

I just can't stand Amy Poehler. While everyone else on the show is playing a character, she can't stop acting like an SNL caricature. It drives me nuts because the rest of the cast is pretty funny.

Conversely, I thought I would hate Community, but I am totally hooked. Besides the lame chicle unrequited love storyline between the two leads, this show is making me laugh every week. Chevy is hitting them out of the park on a regular basis. Last weeks Halloween episode was a classic.

BATMAN!

Agreed that is not as solid as the first 2 seasons, but it's still damn funny.

I too hate the laugh track, but I'm usually laughing over top of it anyway because that show is hilarious.

Ooooh so close. I'm sorry the answer we were looking for was Modern Family.

If there was any debate as to the funniest show on TV this year, last night ended the speculation: Parks and Recreation has emerged in its second season as the best comedy on the air

This is funny, because I was watching it last night waiting for The Office (funnier show) to come on, and was amazed at just how inane, boring and unfunny the show was.

Also, It's Always Sunny in Philly is unequivocally the funniest show on tv this year, and if you disagree, you are a moron and should be thrown into a pit of molten lava.

Amy Poehler is the poor man's Tina Fey. She has been riding Tina's coattails her entire career. I saw the promos for Parks and Recreation and thought "Here we go again. Amy wants to make her version of 30 Rock." I haven't watched a single episode of it.
