There, I said it

Chad understands that when you get right down to it, sports events are entertainment and does his best to enhance that.

Human perspiration is largely odorless until it is fermented by bacteria. Bacteria thrive in hot, humid environments. The human underarm is among the most consistently warm areas on the surface of the human body, and sweat glands provide moisture, which when excreted, has a vital cooling effect. When adult armpits are washed with pH basic soaps, the skin loses its acid mantel (pH 4.5 - 6), raising the pH to become basic. Bacteria thrive in high pH or base environments. Creating such an environment in the armpit makes it more susceptible to bacterial colonization. The bacteria feed on the sweat from the apocrine glands and on dead skin and hair cells, releasing 3-methyl-2-hexenoic acid in their waste, which is the primary cause of body odor. Underarm hair wicks the moisture away from the skin and aids in keeping the skin dry enough to prevent or diminish bacterial colonization. The hair is less susceptible to bacterial growth and therefore is ideal for preventing the bacterial odor.

Not to be walking in here with knee pads at the ready, Ocho is the epitome of what pro sports should be: Light hearted fun.

I agree. I'd like to see what he does after football. There has to be TV gig for this guy somewhere.

His bell is still ringing from the last Ravens game.

Hasn't he done this before? Sending giftbaskets to the Raven's D?

I love it, riles up not just a division rival, but one of the harder hitting D's in the league.

To be4 fair, they are winning.

Lutwidge 2009-11-06 12:26:28 PM
Btw, I call shenanigans on this on him actually sending all that stuff. I mean, does he really have the postal addresses of the entire Baltimore secondary? Seems like if he just wanted to make a silly joke he only needed to send a single basket to someone like Lewis or Reed.

GeorgePasada 2009-11-06 12:35:48 PM
I wouldnt be surprised if there was a big ol' NFL address book that the players have access to. As much as they might "hate each other on the field" and all that other BS, at the end of the day, they have to know it's just a job, right? A job that pays you a crap-ton of money to hit and be hit.

Anyway, yes. I, too, think Chad Ochocinco embodies everything that professional sports should be.

And as egotistical as he is, he still has two less paintings of himself as a centaur than purple lipped freak A-Rod.

puckheaven 2009-11-06 12:41:25 PM
I think Ochocinco is great. He is a breath of fresh air in the No Fun League. He works hard, you never read a story about him skipping practice or dissing his teammates.

I hope he keeps this persona up for a long time. There needs to be more guys like him.

Like GeorgePasada said I'm sure as a NFL player he has some access to other player's personal information and even if he doesn't he probably could just call up a few friends to find out. But would that even be necessary in this case? Seems like he could just send it to the Raven's stadium c/o Ravens D and they'd still get it.

He probably got them from the employee directory.

...and I doubt he cares, since it helped them win the game.

Lutwidge 2009-11-06 01:10:19 PM
Hmm. Still seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to. And what kind of deodorant did he get them? He probably could have made a lot of money just by mentioning the brand on air, but didn't.

SuperChuck 2009-11-06 01:28:24 PM
He probably just had his agent do it. I'm sure the agent can find the addresses easily enough

THE_JESUS_PANTS 2009-11-06 01:33:12 PM
It's a bad omen. He did this before to the Browns defense. He sent them Pepto Bismol five years ago and then the Caridac Cats choked.

There must be a place where all of these football players go. Somewhere where they might all be at the same time to do some kind of football thing.

Maybe it's TGI Fridays

Who knows?

I can't even tell if you are being serious, but you can just mail things to the stadium and address them to players.

You must have missed his shenanigans at the Pro Bowl a couple of years ago, when he was going around to all the guys from different teams pleading to trade for him, so he could get off the Bengals. OK, not dissing a particular teammate, but still.

That being said, I am amused by his antics like this one. Just some light hearted fun.

/Wish they'd revoke that stupid "no fun rule", I miss the Chad Riverdance.

My guess is, wrong venue.

Oh yeah baby, it's going down Sunday. If they win I think they'll definitely be respected as the real deal. Most of the nay-saying "it was a fluke" crowd will have to shut up, and the Bengals will be able to unclench their fists for a week.
