A man, wrapped in a High School Musical blanket, assaulted two men with a flashlight during an attempt to steal money from the Villa Auto Wash kiosk on Aylmer St. on Sept. 16 last year, Ontario Court of Justice heard yesterday.

This is the first sentence of the article, and damnit, that just made me sad. This is rock bottom.

Wrapped in a highschool musical blanket, with a flashlight, robbing a kiosk. Wow.

Police used surveillance video from the kiosk and a photo provided by York Regional Police to identify the man, he said.

Patrick Heeley, 38, was arrested by York Regional Police on Oct. 16 and charged with possession with the intent of trafficking marijuana, Hughes said.

Justice of the peace Carl Young released Heeley on bail with Heeley's mother and landlord serving as sureties. His next court appearance is on Dec. 1.

Is William S. Burroughs doing the news now?
