You knew the girls on dating sites were fakes. But did you know they were fakes set up by the companies that run the dating sites?

But did you know they were fakes set up by the companies that run the dating sites?

I remember a TFD about that. Submitter kept getting messages from hot girls whenever his account was about to expire.

I think the only people who don't know this are people who use dating sites.

Adultfriendfinder would be a likely culprit. One only has to look at a few ads to realize that they're FAKE!

No way! So that little hottie Tina that keeps sending me messages that I can't read without paying and "winking" at me and urging me to subscribe so I can read her flirtations isn't real? God damnit, I don't believe you. Me and Tina have something special!

Who would want to spend time faking so many obese women who love cats?

I think Match.com was sued for this by someone but the suit was dismissed because of lack of evidence.

I agree than many of the ads are fake, but I met a real live girl through matchmaker.com this year. Three months together and still going strong.

I was unsure how such a thing could have happened until I noticed the picture provided, which allowed me to envision just how a female human might employ a personal computer to falsify information.

Met my wife and the mother of my child on a dating site .... (eHarmony)

"Dated" 5+ other girls for varying periods of time I met on dating sites... (Match.com and plentyoffish chicks are sluts, bong!) I say 5+ because I can only specifically remember 5 that I met ... there were probably more. This was all in the 2006-2007 period though, somewhat before this all became a business of epic proportions. I will say in my experience the majority of internet girls are crazy :-)

As a side note - I have other friends who have met and are currently dating girls from dating sites and know of others who similarly met and got married.

I'm pretty sure American companies were already sued and paid out class action settlements on this issue a few years back. Oz running a little slow...as usual.

My confidence in humanity is shaken. If you can't trust someone who runs a website "redhotpie.com" then who can you trust?
