Well he was certainly effective in rousing the Rebels to evacuate Hoth.

As a resident of Connecticut, I wouldn't vote for him. I loved Cheers, but the guy's a Teabagger.

I only support left-wing wingnuts, not right-wing wingnuts.

now hang on there Normie, the Guy did spend 10 years sitting on his butT pretending to be an expert on every subject known to man while in actuality being dumb as a box of hammers. I'd say that's pretty decent training to be a GOP congress person

We need to stop using the term Teabagger to describe the Tea Party/ Tax protesters. It is degrading to the fine citizens who express their constitutional right to engage in whatever consenting sexual activity between adults that they want to.

He's a pretty smart guy. he told me that women have fewer sweat glands than men. But they're larger, more active.

/better than that guy from Minnesota
//at least the Ratz has said something funny before

He'd be the go-to guy for filibustering, that's for damn sure.

"Vote for this bill or we let Ratzenberger speak!"

I normally have no problem with celebrities running for higher offices IF they have some sort of political background. Sonny Bono was a mayor, Fred Grandy was a speechwriter, Schwarzenegger was ubiquitous throughout Reagan's administration, Fred Thompson fell into acting by accident (he was already a huge political figure during Watergate & was asked to play himself in a movie about another of his cases), and Franken's later career was most definitely political--Air America, his books, his support of Paul Wellstone.

What's Ratzenberger done? He & Kelsey Grammer showed up for a couple of McCain rallies and since then just seems to rile up crowds at tea parties. The equivalent of nothing.

I already told you. He inspired the Rebels on Hoth to get to their transports.

So the man who advocates for the USPS yet decries "ZOMG SOSHULLISM11!" wants to be a Senator. Yeah. Makes sense.

DarnoKonrad 2009-11-06 09:08:58 AM
you have to wonder if he would want to be associated with a man who is seen by the public as a clueless, know-it-all postal worker.

Damn.

However:

casting his lot with conservative Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty

burn.

didn't seem to hurt Sarah Palin

Damn Hollywood liberal elites should just shut up! What business does one of those socialist actors have in politics? Acting is no background for serious policy-making. Just because he got his mug in front of a camera does not qualify him for ...

Oh, he's conservative?

Ratzenberger 2010!

Apparently Kelsey Grammer is a wingnut as well. Completely stomped the humor out of Fraser after I learned that.

Grammar is definitely a Republican, but I don't think he is a wingnut teabagger-type. If he were, I doubt that he would have worked on the show as long as he did being that half of the cast is gay. Then again, money talks.

That's a little presumptuous isn't it? I consider myself somewhat right of center and I'll defend to the death your right to stick your junk in whomever or whatever you want.

You know, for the Democratic party being dominated by "Hollywood Liberals", the Republicans sure like to run a lot of actors for office, have them appear at political rallies, have them talk politics on TV, etc.

The presumption I make is that your standard Republican (or Democrat) may or may not have an issue with gays, but that a full-fledged teabagger (ironically) is likely not going to be very tolerant of "teh ghey"

Cliff was a Rebel commander? This is why you don't clone your army, like inbreeding, it leads to incompetence.

At least the Republicans put their money where their mouth is, and actually run. The left just likes to make appearances with South American dictators and run their mouths.

Better than Republicans using the CIA to install South American dictators.

Interesting phenomenon these days of people feeling the need to relegate everyone to either extreme rather than allowing for the possibility of a whole spectrum of viewpoints.

Seriously? You lose your ability to enjoy an actor's work if that actor doesn't agree with you on the correct way to run a country?
