In theory one could argue an abuse of power, because even if you're friendly with one of the professors in your program, you still depend on them for review of your work, maintaining your academic standing, reference letters, rankings within the department that determine future opportunities, etc, etc, etc. It's a pretty standard conflict-of-interest problem.

I could go either way on whether the woman filing the suit is likely to be a nutjob. On one hand, I don't trust university administrators, especially when it comes to incidents that might harm the university's reputation. On the other hand, I know a lot of profs (so I'm really getting a kick out of these replies...) and they're just normal folks, with normal human flaws, which sometimes includes fanaticism, delusions of grandeur, and a persecution complex.

Also, subby misread the article in an effort to make the headline sexy. Bad subby. You should be disciplined for that.

The mayor having his term limits removed so he could run again. The bloated school district that can't afford to provide lunches or books for the students, but every school has 4 principals.
