ok caturday, i want your opinions/suggestions..

lately my darling minerva kitty has become a big freaking whiner. she sits by my front door and yowls all the time. including at night. she's always been an indoor cat and because of where i live i wouldn't let her become an outdoor cat (i live in the city, there are cars and such around, various other neighborhood kitties, some basically feral, plus she's so stupid she'd get scared and run and run and i'd never see her again). and while i live in a 1 bedroom apartment, it's a pretty large one so it's not like she doesn't have space to run around.

anyway this is driving me insane and i'm sure the neighbors aren't crazy about it either. i try to distract her with toys or nip and sometimes it works but usually shes right back at it 5 mins later. i've tried squirting her with a spray bottle when she does it but of course I get the 2 cats in the entire world who don't really mind it much.

so do you think this is just a case of "whatever side of the door kitty is on is the wrong side of the door"? anyone have any ideas for making her shut the hell up?
