Then for Jeter, a question for the ladies.

Letterman: "Are you engaged? Are people saying you're engaged?"

Jeter: "I heard that one. I heard I was engaged. I heard I've been engaged a few times. I've heard I've been married, kids, all kinds of stuff."

Letterman: "But are you engaged?"

Jeter: "I'm NOT engaged. How 'bout you?"

The only 12 steps I'll take are on my way to the fridge for another.

/12 steps have no credibility
//amazed these things work on anyone:

1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become
unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to
sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we
understood Him.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature
of our wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make
amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do
so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly
admitted it.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with
God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us
and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to
carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our
affairs.

By your argument, God is just another crutch like sex and booze.

yep I agree with you, I was court ordered to attend 3 meetings a week. When I tell people I'm an atheist this look of dread creeps across their faces, it's actually pretty hilarious. People should not be FORCED to attend AA meetings, it kind of opposes the whole point IMO.

lol, I haven't watched a parade since the last Yankee parade. They're all awful, aren't they? Somehow the parades from the 90's seemed like they were watchable.

That's pretty awesome, I'm not against meetings or programs by anymeans. If it helps someone improve their life that's great. It just wasn't necessarily for me, I have been sober (except for a few weddings and funerals) for about a year and a half. Good on you sir.
