Oh boohoo...

I liked the first one.

The first one had glaring plot holes, it was a terrible pile of shiat.

Probably the Jurassic Park sequels.

/though I never saw them.

i didn't hate the first, but it wasn't what it could have been. Casting should be based on who will fit the role, not whose name is supposed to put butts in seats. If you cast the right person, the butts will find their way to the seats.

We could attribute both to teh ghey.

Hope the next one actually has some bike driving in it that isn't totally CGI.

PppFT! I liked the 1st one. It would have been a perfect Drive Inn movie in 1979.

As I said in yesterday's thread, it was a GREAT LOOKING film, but a stupid stupid movie. So, Jesusaurus, I'd have to answer your question in the negative.

'Twould have been a nice pair to have seen, to be sure.

Have there been any Marvel (or DC) movies with tits? Batnips don't count.

It sounds like you followed your g/f out of Ghostrider...and was forced to stay through Moulin Rouge.

The first punisher, not the Thomas Jane the Dolph one. Not sure if that one technically even counts though.

There is going to be a Power Girl in the works as well.... granted its DC but we'll have that going for us.

When I saw the first Ghost Rider movie, I felt a strong dislike to what I was seeing on screen. If I decided to view a sequel to this movie, I would hope that the images and dialogue on the screen would be more enjoyable.

I got lucky in the fact that my girlfriend at the time got me into a screening of the original. Lucky in the fact that I didn't waste any money to see it.

She still apologized afterward.

I really need to stop trying to debug code and write coherently at the same time.

What? Everything I've seen of it (clips and whatnot) looks TERRIBLE. The CGI is absolutely awful! For what was one of the coolest characters in comic books, they really crapped up on this one. Three things need to look good: Fire lighting, Leather texture, Chains reflection. All were terrible.

justtray 2009-11-05 02:39:28 PM
Ghostrider was the worst movie Ive ever seen in my life and I've seen a LOT of bad movies. It single handedly made me hate nic cage as an actor and a human

beelzebubba76 2009-11-05 02:39:37 PM
I so wish Werner Herzog were directing this movie. He finally got a good performance out of Nic Cage. Probably threatened to shoot him if he didn't act well.

Jack31081 2009-11-05 02:42:35 PM
Actually, I believe it's the "Incredible Hulk" approach.

Casino Royale was actually the very definition of a reboot.

They should have just let Sam Elliot be Ghost Rider instead of wasting him in a small role as the previous one.

I illegally downloaded Ghost Rider, expecting it to suck. And I still felt ripped off. That movie was absolute crap, even for a bad comic book adaption.

Speaking of 'Casino Royale'... last weekend I saw a kinoscope of an Americanized TV version from the 50s.

Can't remember the star's name but I recognized him.

Bond was American, Felix Leiter was with the Brit's M-5 and the villian was played by Peter Lorre'.

I had no idea this one had been made but Bond as a Yank?
Mon Dieu!

I would watch an "Old West" ghostrider movie in a heartbeat. Especially one starring Sam Elliot.

/Know it'll never happen, but the nerd in me wishes for a Jonah Hex/Ghostrider crossover movie. Preacher cameo & the creation of Abe Sapien optional.

Anyone else think that the voice they used for the Ghost Rider was a horrible farkin choice?

Not deep and demonic enough in my opinion...

theorellior 2009-11-05 03:41:52 PM
I think the scene that summed the whole movie up for me was the one where Johnny Blaze is jumping the helicopters in slo-mo. Laughable premise, bad greenscreen work, shiatty CGI rendering, and Nick Cage looking half-asleep as he attempts to emote something beyond a dull smolder. In slo-mo.

schattenteufel [TotalFark] 2009-11-05 03:50:30 PM
I rented Ghost Rider, invited my friends over to watch it. We stat through the whole thing...afterward, my one friend turned to me & said "ok, this makes up for making you go see Battlefield Earth. We're even now."

The first one was amazingly mediocre.

Didn't hate it, but I couldn't recommend it to anyone, either.

This. And with exception of MAYBE 'Star Trek', one of the few instances they did it right.

Was kinda hoping that someone would do a 'Phantom Edit' on Ghost Rider just to edit out all the Nick Cage parts in it. I think it would make that movie at least 10 times better.

/Worked for Episode I

Got to watch Nic Cage in "Bad Lieutenant" he's in prime scene-chewing, schizo cop form. Werner Herzog's really the man!

I think it's out on the 20th.

Yeah, i'm wondering what Subby thinks a reboot is.

My mom posited the idea that James Bond is not a person, but a mantle. One Bond dies, they find another guy to take his place.

I was paid to see Ghost Rider as I was a film reviewer for my local newspaper at the time, and I still wanted to walk out at least half a dozen times.

After seeing Knowing and the Wicker Man, I kinda avoid recent movies that has Nick Cage in it for longer than 5 minutes.

/He used to be so good in movies.

I know I punched my friend in the face after he forced me to watch Jason X.

FIFY. Especially that ricockulous scene with Tim Robbins.

Okay, maybe Miranda Otto can be spared.

Unfortunately, the only thing I can remember from that movie was her FARKING screaming. I was pretty begging for a snuff scene. I mean when someone becomes more irritating than Tom Cruise, you know you have a problem.
