How would she dress up a drum kit in a costume and take saccharine sweet pictures of it? I don't think that would work that well...

Good thing she led the suffragettes to victory first, or it would have been decades before they got the vote.

Well it's easy to get confused--after all, she changes from day to day.

How refreshing that there are still a few people on earth who can at least feign incredulity and indignant rage at something that innocuous.

David Mitchell is a funny funny man, and part of what he does is say tasteless things. Shock, horror. He's absolutely right to put the onus back on the BBC where it belongs.

I just think it's really nice that someone could take a tragedy like what happened to her, and use the power of a name to turn it into a cool store where teen girls who ARE alive can buy pretty stickers with unicorns and rainbows on them.

She would have wanted girls now to have pimped-out Trapper Keepers.

Kome [TotalFark] 2009-11-05 04:09:17 PM
There is nothing sacred in comedy. Lot of great comedians have joked about all sorts of touchy subjects. You're allowed to feel offended or hurt, but let's not pretend that your being offended is a sufficient reason for other people to censor themselves.

heh - I know one of the head artists for the store you're referring to - he says it's more hell than you could ever imagine, but the pay's pretty good for an artist, so he stays. Even the building looks like Rainbow Brite led the Care Bears in a suicide bombing mission inside.

on a side note - I finally get the joke.

drum kits are no good if you're trying to hide from the Nazis... so, obviously her last entry would be the day after she got the drum kit.

Eva Schloss, 80, whose mother married Anne's father Otto Frank after the war, has dedicated her life to educating people about interfaith tolerance.
She told the Jewish News: "It's amazing that this comedian dared to make such a thoughtless remark. The Holocaust and its victims is no subject for comedy

Speaking as someone who is at this moment laying down the audio for a show which constantly uses the Holocaust as a source of comedy, I'm totally adding this chick to the guest list for the premier.

The giveaway to this being a joke is that drum kits were highly rationed in nazi occupied Europe. So I doubt that someone with the Frank's disposition would have the ability to procure one.
