(Kotaku) A Japanese company polled 500 men ranging from their teens to their 40's about which games have made them cry the most and came up with a list of the top five. There are five people who cried because of video games?
When my roommate got the new Ghostbusters game. $55 for a game that took 7 hours to beat and had no reply value. He cried all the way back to Gamestop to return the thing to the same employee he bought it from that morning.
I didn't cry but I did have some pangs of empathy when chickie-pie threw herself off a cliff after Dr Cid croaked in Final Fantasy (whichever) and when you lose your horse in Shadow of the Colossus. Plus I felt a little wistfull during "The Boat Song" in Lunar.
Aeris' death was a surprise, but you know, she is just a collection of pixels and mediocre dialogue so I can't see why anyone would cry over her.
TheRaven7:Too bad you didn't cry Elune's tears amirite?
No, it tended to be priests and mages that failed. I mean seriously. I never once died to anything in that fight but him gibbing me at the end because some tard couldn't click tears.

I lost the AFC Championship game on a last second Hail Mary, just after taking the lead on a Hail Mary.

I didn't cry but never played a game with a better story and hated to see the game end.

I was 5 years old for that game and knew it was really really bad.

That still stands as my favorite FF title ever. XII was pretty effin' fantastic, but X is still my be-all, end-all favorite.
/X-2 was a godawful pile of dreck though

I have to agree with this. The unskipable cutscenes kinda sucked, but other than that, it was an amazing game...

I cried when I bought X-2 and realized, about an hour in, it was just awful.
