November 5, 1955 must be some sort of nexus for the entire space time continuum... or just a coincidence.

Well, that's nice. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to run down to the corner store and pick up some plutonium.

I'm going to take this opportunity to declare that Mary Steenburgen is the hotness, especially in the "MILF" category.

Remember remember the 5th of November and the breakthrough that led to the car. The flux capacitor's design led it through time and made Chuck Berry a star.

Wow.

What a coincidence. Me too. I went to bed. And when I got up. It was a whole different day. Imagine that? I invented time travel. Who would'a thought it. Oh well. Back to my day job.

There's that word again. Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?

I saw some episode of some anthology show. Guy invented a time machine, went back to meet Shakespeare. Who was pissed off at all the people from the future who kept visiting him. Time mac hine inventor soon got bothered by lots of people who travelled back in time from the future, to meet the inventor of the time machine.

2chris2: Has anyone yet figured out how much a jigawatt is?

I think the going theory amongst fans is that "jigawatt" is simply the mispronunciation of "gigawatt". However, I also think I remember that Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis once said in an interview that "jigawatt" was a meaningless term simply used to convey "a very large amount". Whatever it is, it's equal to the average power output of your standard bolt of lightning.

/seems to be thinking a lot today
//should stop soon before it leads to actual productivity

Things have certainly changed around here. I remember when this was all farkland as far the eye could see. Old man Peabody owned all of this. He had this crazy idea about breeding pine trees.

LIES. Time travel was invented 50 years before the supported 1955 date..and it ran entirely on steam.

youneverbelieved 2009-11-05 02:50:05 PM
Clearly November 5th MUST be a temporal nexus; judging by the number of time travels drawn there.

That would be awesome. But knowing Hollywood these days, we'll get a remake with Shia LeDouche as Marty. Or a Lucas-berg revisioning with coool added digital special effects that are completely out of scale with the original.

/I can haz digital remastering pleez?

I can see it now.. they'll go back to 1985 and marvel about the lack of internet, cell phones, and hybrid cars. Maybe even get Michael J. Fox to reprise his role. Though the chances of that might be a bit shakey.

FTFY. The "temporal junction point" is when Biff headed in BTTF 2, the day Marty went back to 1985.

The whole nexus for the space-time continuum thing was what Doc was saying about Nov. 12th, 1955 not the 5th.

For those of you talking about jiggawatt vs. gigawatt, it IS Gigawatt, according to wikipedia, Robert Z's science advisor for the movie (heh) kept pronouncing it jigawatt, which is technically acceptable, but less common.
