I shall get an itty-bitty horse and an itty-bitty buggy so he can clip-clop around the lair - delivering small pats of apple butter and milk in itty-bitty bottles to my minions!
Obdicut:He can't really be Amish, or the other Amish would have to shun him.
Or he's been on the world's longest rumshpringa.
That was my first thought, once you leave the church and are shunned, you do not go back for visits. But shunning varies in severity from community to community. Some Mennonite sects are more strict than some new order Amish sects. So I suppose it's possible depending on how "old order" his community is.
Well DUH. His name's Troyer. First time I heard his name I figured there was an Amish connection. There's like 4 or 5 definitively Amish names and Troyer is one of them.
/just down the road from Holmes County, Ohio - home of Troyer's Trail Bologna //no, it has nothing to do with "road apples"

In Michigan, huh? I wonder if he was raised out in the Colon area (yes, that's what it's named. Used to have a stage magician shop in it, not sure if it still does.) Huge amish community. When I was in grade school, we had one of those trade-student field trips. We had a couple not-quite-Amish kids stay with us and I ended up right on the edge of some Amish farms myself in return.

True enough. He just makes it sound as though he's talking about Amish culture in general.

They aren't shunning him, they just didn't notice him down there.

I can believe that they might have a midget-exception to the shunning rule.
