Meh, they've been in the Dem's pockets for years now. This was inevitable. They're a front group to scare the elderly into voting for liberals. Plus they'll rake in millions thanks to the new legislation. This was a foregone conclusion.
In a coup for House Democrats, AARP will endorse sweeping health care overhaul legislation headed for a history-making floor vote, officials told The Associated Press on Wednesday
The only thing Nancy would tell the AP would be to suck her clitoris, I would hope.
My parents were against Medicare because Reagan told them it was going to destroy America. Then they reached Medicare and Social Security benefit age and it was like they never spent years biatching about how we were all going to hell in a handbasket.

Odd that. People are against something until they qualify to benefit from it?

And then they desire to prevent others from gaining the same. We should come up with a short, pithy phrase to sum it up; I'm thinking, "Got mine, something something"...

Well, to be fair, the Boomers have been doing that for years, so it's not really much of a surprise, is it?

That was farking perfect. I know you are doing it for the laugh and I still felt my neck flush a bit while I was reading it. Bravo.

Oh, I pissed some old guy off bad who started talking to me one day. CNN was going on about health care, I was eating somewhere, and he starting saying a lot of stupid things, and I was trying to find polite ways to call him an idiot and correct him on several basic facts. What I did leave him with was something alone the lines of "Well, I'm already paying for your health care. I'd like some for myself too." He didn't like that.

Baby Boomers: kicking doors shut behind them since 1965?
Well that is pretty much when Gen X started being born, and the only thing we could do is reverse the 17 years of plunging standardized test scores that they started...

For some reason, "You're not only already paying the equivalent of the next guy's health care, he's getting nothing and you're getting underserved," seems to stick in dad's craw. For being so gung-ho fiscally conservative, he sure is hellbent on blowing through cash like water when BillO says it's the highest form of patriotic.

I remember that. I think it it was an ad for the American Seniors Association - a "conservative" alternative to the AARP.
