Oh, I pissed some old guy off bad who started talking to me one day. CNN was going on about health care, I was eating somewhere, and he starting saying a lot of stupid things, and I was trying to find polite ways to call him an idiot and correct him on several basic facts. What I did leave him with was something alone the lines of "Well, I'm already paying for your health care. I'd like some for myself too." He didn't like that.

The bill would set up health insurance "exchanges" through which self-employed people and small businesses could buy coverage, either from a private insurer or a new government plan that would compete. All the plans sold through the exchange would have to follow basic consumer protection rules, making it easier to shop and compare among them. The majority of Americans covered under big employer plans would not see dramatic changes.

Not "durr" because old people always vote for more money for unnecessary care increases (since getting sick for them is no longer 'if', it's 'when'), though that's somewhat true.

"Durr" because bribing the AARP with actions tilting the field in its favor (it is/owns an insurance company now, it's not really so much an advocate organization like it once was) was one of the first things that every version of the bill did. And the whole idea is pretty much a transfer of wealth to insurance companies in general if the public option and/or universal minimum coverage is stripped out. Basically Hillarycare over again... joy.

Then, I should be optimistic, maybe at least a weak version of the entire damned point of reform will make it through reconciliation in the form of a public option. Good luck with that, I guess.

Can some honest logical thinking GOP member please explain to me why are you still voting for them? Can you honestly describe to me why should I join your party? I see nothing but hate and "get the fark out if you don't meet our little niche party requirements" which does nothing but to push people away. What part of the party is actually going to interest younger generations, it's nothing but hate and turning away anything that tries to move society forward. If you can some how form an argument as to why the conservative party is worth listening to I am all ears. All I hear now is hate and enough whargaball to choke a horse. Thats pretty sad you say we hate when its people on the left who hates anyone who disagree with them. The left brings up race whenever we disagree with obama it couldn't possible be that we don't like his policies.
