The Yankees will end it tonight. They just wanted to be on their home turf.

I just want to post in one of the World Series threads early on.

I think I'll start my own drinking game for postseason games at Yankee Stadium, and here is the only rule:

--Fox shows a shot of that smirking cocksucker Rudy Giuliani sitting in the front row wearing a suit and his dumbass "FD PD" baseball cap for the 5th time in the game: Throw your beer through the TV screen.

Even if I didn't already hate the Yankees, I'd be rooting for them to lose if only to wipe the smirk off of that douchebag's face.

Drinking game: every time Buck or McCarver says something stupid, take a drink. The upside is that if your team loses, it won't matter because you'll be dead long before the end of the game.

Phillies 7-5 tonight!

If the Yankees win, then then World Series is over, so that's a good thing.

If the Phillies win, then the series is NOT over, but there's a chance that the Yankees will lose tomorrow and thus the entire series, so THAT'S a good thing.

Hmmm. Tough choice. I'll go with option 2. I can hack baseball being on the screen for an extra day.

heavymetal [TotalFark] 2009-11-04 07:01:09 PM
The key to the Phillies having a chance is if Martinez's stuff is on tonite and he gets pulled after the 5th no matter what.

The memo from the front office is "seven games."

If the Phils' collapse they can't stop it, but expect the calls to go the Phils' way.

You really think Charlie will pull him if his stuff is good? No, he'll pull a Grady Little just like he did last time.

Andy is money. Pedro will be gallant in the effort. An Epic game 6. NO dog in the fight. My guys are playing golf and making their dredlocks longer.

Go Blue.

Utley is a beast. The Yanks would be best off just walking him each time. No matter, I don't see Phily winning two more in a row.

If nothing else, it should be interesting to see if they go to lidge again.

I have no emotional investment in either team. However, the Phillies beat the Dodgers. As a Giants fan, I am obligated to temporarily allow for Shane Victorino's existence and root for Philadelphia.

Having said that, I have nothing else to add, so here's a completely unrelated football picture:

Dammit, I'm still at work even. I won't be home until 5:10 or so, so I'll miss the inevitable first inning random run the Yankees always manage to get.

It's OK, though--plenty of time to see them choke every inning after that.

I think the very big question is will Earguy match his amazing game 5 performance when he was at only 60 percent. I haven't seen posting like that since gorgor was allowed to actually link.

Yankees win tonight.

Chase Utley for MVP

/book it
//done

Lt. Cheese Weasel 2009-11-04 07:34:39 PM
For MVP there can only be one serious consideration and that is John Boy Damon. Look at his avg, and his total package. It's bigger than Dick Cheneys package.
If they give the MVP to Utley on a losing squad, I will not be amused. Most VALUABLE Player. It's Damon.

Don't worry, you still have 2 1/2 hours to get home.

My prediction: Pettitte will pitch an excellent game--as usual in these situations--and Pedro will step up and put up a gutsy performance for 5 innings or more. But maybe not quite gutsy enough--either that or the Phillies' bullpen will give up a few crucial hits, including one longball. Final score: 4-2 Yankees.

I hate the farking Yankees, so I really hope I'm wrong.

I think he is ready. If he needs to use the bathroom, I'm taking him between innings. I'm not letting him poop the same time Lidge pitches. That is a bad sign.

I really want to see this series come down to Cole and Lidge vs. CC tomorrow. I don't have much optimism for Pedro though so you guys will have to carry the hope. I'll post the randomness.

If this is an attempt at an NHL threadjacking of the World Series while the Yankees are a win away from a championship, you're going to need a lot more help. :P

Yep, I'm in exactly the same spot. But as a bonus, I hate the Yanks, I would be rooting for any team--other than the Dodgers--against the Yankees.
