Whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?

Lost Thought 00: I hear TO is available

Sounds like he's trying to become T.O. ...

I've lost all patience to players who talk to the media about stuff like this. Also, is it far fetched to think that the rookie has been way more open than the Cowboys' "#1 receiver?" Roy Williams, quit yer biatchin, and go get better.

DevilsHorns J [TotalFark] 2009-11-04 09:40:09 PM
Oh, yeah- that type of talk is sure to get Romo to look your way some more during games, smart guy.

InferiousX [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-11-04 09:40:18 PM
And this is the guy who was supposed to replace Owens.

Just as much of an annoyance, yet puts up even less numbers. Nice jorb, Dallas.

Peter von Nostrand 2009-11-04 09:42:13 PM
Maybe because they have a tendency to catch the ball? Granted, Romo hung him out to dry against (I think, can't remember and too lazy to look it up) the Broncos and that's why his ribs are a bit sore.

I'd say he's doing a pretty good job imitating TO's performance this year. Someone should have told him they wanted him to imitate TO back when he was actually good.

Over_Zealously_Apathetic 2009-11-04 09:59:23 PM
Detroit wanted to trade him. Think about that, Jerry.

Miles Austin. That is the ticket. Ahhhh....

This is Detroit we're talking about here. It doesn't matter if we do get an Emmitt Smith or a Russell Maryland, or if we get the next Reggie White, or Troy Polamalu, or if we get Barry Sanders 2: Electric Boogaloo, we're gonna fark'em up and drive them out of town if they're lucky, and ruin their careers if they aren't.

# of 100+ yard games Roy Williams has had in the last year and a half: 0

# of 100+ yard games Miles Austin has had in the last 3 weeks: 2

Yeah Roy, you're still the #1 receiver, as long as your only responsibility as the #1 receiver was to replace the Asshat void left by TO.

bluorangefyre 2009-11-04 10:48:13 PM
Oh yeah, I thought he'd have a good season, and even drafted him to my fantasy team. I cut him after week 4. Thankfully nobody in my league had taken Miles Austin.

raptusregaliter 2009-11-04 10:54:01 PM
Ugh, he caught Terrellwhinyblabbermouthitis.

*sigh*

It's pretty sad when he gets showed up by a undrafted kid who came out of a podunk school... and (novel concept!!) is capitalizing on the big chance given him.

Roy needs to STFU and GBTW. Srsly.

Yep. Brian Dawkins laid him the fark out. Williams said it was the hardest hit he had ever taken.

JOHN MCENROE MY CHILDHOOD NEMESIS 2009-11-04 11:26:28 PM
You know, reading the article, Williams isn't biatching that all the balls his way are uncatchable because of Romo. He's saying that they're just not on the same page and hes frustrated because he came in and did the extra work to make sure he can be the go to, #1 guy and it just isn't clicking while things are with other people and then when they asked Romo he said the same thing.

Thats good for Williams. His stats arent TERRIBLE by any means (but I live in Cleveland, so assuming someone catches the ball is a plus) but theyre not top guy stuff and he wants to work at it more. At least he isnt like "Romos the worst QB I ever had pass to me, I want to be traded, blah blah blah" that weve come to expect out of athletes.

SharkTrager 2009-11-04 11:34:22 PM
Didn't Jerry Jones already say Roy Williams was still the Number One receiver? Perhaps that is where Roy got the idea.

It's not reflected in anything I've seen on the field, but it does seem Roy is not totally alone in making the claim.

Shut up Roy Williams, you should be happy you aren't 3rd receiver right now. Crayton is better and more productive than him by a long shot. Williams is a bust, but who cares right now? We got Austin going and Felix Jones is a great catching RB. Not to mention Witten and Bennett at the TE position. If Williams gets going then that only adds to an already good situation. We don't need you Roy, you punk ass beezy!

TheJoe03 [TotalFark] 2009-11-05 12:03:10 AM

Mr. Chainsaw 2009-11-05 01:43:51 AM
Hint: we don't need a "star" receiver. Austin is insane, Hurd and Crayton both have big play potential, Witten is the most reliable TE in the league, and both Choice and Jones are good receiving backs. Williams can go back to the Lions for all I care.

we won it five times 2009-11-05 02:27:11 AM
Watch a RW interview. He and TO aren't as much alike as ESPN would have you believe. Yeah, he's frustrated, but RW isn't half the pain in the arse that TO is because RW doesn't demand the ball like TO did.

Um, this.

I heard the comment on radio and it wasn't in a TO kinda way. More of a "trying to figure out how to connect" kinda way.

I'm surprised by all this. Slow NFL news week I guess. When he was in Detroit, you didn't hear him biatch and moan about the losing, playing with Calvin Johnson, etc...And when he went from Detroit to Dallas, he actually said positive things about The Lions (!) and I was excited for him to be on a contender. He's just frustrated. It's not like he called a press conference so he could complain.

The Lions have drafted linemen they just did it wrong. They blew 3 first rounders on tackles since 2000. 2 of them were right tackles. So here they are in 2009 still wihtout a real left tackle. They need a dominant left tackle. In order to get one of those you either need to use a first rounder or a whole bunch of middle rounders on left tackles. With a real left tackle they could move Backus to left guard and Peterman to right guard. That would be a pretty solid line. If I were them I'd draft a real left tackle in the first then I'd draft all defense.

Redundant.

Fark-the-Fnord 2009-11-05 09:56:47 AM
Could it have anything to do with the fact that he is often double if not triple covered and when he does get free Romo has about 4 defensive players crushing him when he can get rid of the ball. That might have something to do why a ball is thrown sloppily.

"And if you listen really carefully children, you can still hear the ghost of Terrell Owens whispering 'Throw me the ball' and 'im the best receiver in the world'. But dont listen to him children hes just a lost soul."

drew46n2 [TotalFark] 2009-11-05 10:09:56 AM
funny thing is, Roy's right. When Romo throws to him, they have been pretty bad. He hung him out and got him injured against K.C., then last Sunday against Seattle he hung him out again, only he didn't take a hit.

He shouldn't talk about it to the media or make excuse, but he's not wrong about Romo's throws.

As a Cowboys fan, I cannot believe we traded a jillion draft picks to pay this asshat 9 million a year. We should've been concerned when Horsecollar Mcblowncoverage (Roy Williams the fat one) could cover him in college.

Michael Irvin recently said that Roy is a big diva and Austin eats up coaching/feedback. I'm happy for Miles and I hope Sam Hurd/Patrick Crayton continue developing to shove this d-bag aside if he won't change. Of course, I'd be happier if he stopped sucking.

jazzi-e 2009-11-05 10:57:15 AM
Roy Williams is a lazy piece of shiat! He was lazy at Texas and he will always be crap. He used to cry in college when he didn't get thrown to. Fark him! That is coming from a Longhorn fan. Good job locking him up Jerry. Cowgirls suck!

Look, we can't have people like YOU actually reading the article and coming to a logical conclusion. That is total bullshiat & completely out of line. Now go back, read the inflammatory, trolling headline and go off on a tangent about what a whiner RW is and how Romo is OBVIOUSLY out to get him and throws him the crappy balls.

How dare you, sir. HOW DARE YOU

On the upside, if we keep Roy as the #1 receiver, maybe he'll get all the coverage & we can continue to throw to the 9 other dudes on the team who can also catch balls and run fast.

beerdini 2009-11-05 11:27:31 AM
From what I've seen watching Roy (primarily as a Lion) is that they usually underthrow the ball to him. With his size, he towers over everyone, throw the ball up and he'll catch it, but for some reason everyone seems to throw him the ball to the waist or lower. Use your tall guys to your advantage already.

Di Atribe [TotalFark] 2009-11-05 11:36:39 AM
InferiousX: And this is the guy who was supposed to replace Owens.

Wrong. The difference here is, instead of being pressured to throw to one guy all the time, Romo can now feel free to throw to whomever is the best option. And instead of being beaten down behind the scenes, it would seem as if they have some sort of "team" dynamic going on.

Even RW said that as long as the Cowboys are winning, it's all good.
