(Pa. Dept. of State) The *gulp* you heard was from Nancy Pelosi: In Pennsylvania, a blue state where Democrats have a 1.2 million voter registration edge, Republicans won all but one judicial race
Thanks for the heads-up, subby. I will mark this date on my calendar as the day the Democratic Party died. They will never win another election, ever, in this country because of this, and the Republican Party, resurgent, will live happily ever after and all will be good with America.
local elections are not the same as nationals. this is evidenced by the fact that i never vote for stroger machine democrats in chicago, but have yet to vote republican in a national. i'm still a democrat.
The political pendulum swings, this is nothing new. I wouldn't read too much into it. Next year I'd expect the dems to lose a few seats, probably not the majority though. Obama is a shoe-in as a two-termer unless he screws the pooch big time, as the reps really don't have anybody to run.
R.A.Danny:mitchcumstein1: What's Vermont have to do with this?
When stated, the point was that there were only judicial races won. Maybe we are on different scopes here.
He was trying to point out that you confused Virginia and Vermont (it's ok, they switch orders in drop-down boxes depending on if they're alphabetized by abbreviation or full name, so I'll often mess it up when entering my credit card.)
Great...this is what we hear about nothing judicial races in random states. I can't imagine what is going to happen when the opposition party picks up seats during the midterm election just like every other midterm election for the past half century.

Minnesota has not had a Democrat as its governor since 1991 - and it's one of the bluest states around.

If you're running for a race as Republican and you are NOT in philly, you are going to win.
