I already have my dialing wand

But these gloves would make anyone fat fingered.

I hope they work better than my own (bony) fingers because they don't work on my iPhone half the time.

/its camera sucks too

penthesilea [TotalFark] 2009-11-04 11:58:14 AM
I have last year's gloves which work on my ipod but not my iphone. Other than the two little dots they're just basic gloves.

We are such a lazy people.

"Hold on, let me see how to get there with the GPS on my phone. Also, I'll read reviews of the place and check my e-mail too because this 3 X 5 thin square also has access to all the world's information. Then we can go there and take pictures with the same dev . . devic . . . device . . why isn't it working?"
"Take off your gloves"
"OH F*CK THIS shiat! WHAT AN INCONVENIENCE!"

When I use my touch screen I do it in one hand with my the corner of my thumb next to the nail. So I just need to get a bit of conductive yarn for my gloves, thank guys.

If these fools failed to get their patents some glove maker is going to make a mint with "iPhone compatible gloves".

I hate touch-screen keyboards.

redonkulon 2009-11-04 12:23:59 PM
"Jeremy Horwitz, editor of iLounge, a Web site that covers Apple devices, said the fingertips on DOTS gloves aren't as effective as an ungloved hand.

"These tips are able to activate the key icon-sized features of the iPhone and iPod touch - turning on music, changing tracks and adjusting volume - but offer too little precision for typing," he told the Daily News. "

I don't know about this guy, but the last time I tried to type with gloves on didn't work out so well (non-iPhone). I imagine typing on a full size keyboard could also be problematic.

/dialing wand please

The Angry Hand of God 2009-11-04 12:25:47 PM
HAHAHA suckers! My Voyager doesn't care what you touch the screen with. You also have to slide your finger to unlock the iPhone! All i have to do is put pressure on the corner with my ass. As a matter of fact I am ass-dialing someone right now! Stupid Apple products!!

Katie98_KT 2009-11-04 12:26:02 PM
look, make fun of smartphone users if you want.

but, this is a brilliant idea, for a good price (the gloves aren't $50), and actually useful.
Nice job, american entrepreneurs.

My birthed got me a pair of gloves for my birthday because they were sold out for Christmas last year. They work pretty well. I DRTFA but I don't see anything new here.

yogaFLAME [TotalFark] 2009-11-04 01:14:43 PM
I don't have an iPhone, but up here in MA answering the phone with gloves on is a real concern. Apparently the solution is to use your nose.

This is a good idea.

But where I live it gets so cold in winter that you just can't use electronic devices outside anyway, making this invention somewhat useless.

bhcompy [TotalFark] 2009-11-04 01:48:22 PM
Who uses fingers on their touchscreen phone?

HTC ftw.

good_2_go 2009-11-04 01:50:27 PM
Perfect timing. Tomorrow Canadians will be able to get an iPhone from 3 different carriers (Bell, Telus, Rogers), instead of just one.

I wish I had the patience to look up the dilbert comic that actually relates to this.

You know, if it's cold enough that I'm wearing gloves... I'd really rather not risk frostbite just to answer a phone call or check an email. It's not a laziness thing...

Real men whip out their penis to do it...

What when it's that cold it makes the perfect stylus!

If you're in the kind of weather that will give your fingers frostbite in the ten seconds it would take to do something on your phone, you probably shouldn't be all that worried about texting your BFF Jill, Captain Exaggerate.

Hatman013 2009-11-04 03:07:40 PM
What do these gloves smell like?

/black?

garyg 2009-11-04 03:11:00 PM
God that's sad. How is this any different from the gloves I just bought? At least those have metal dots....these look like wooly nubs.

Plus mine has a dot on the thumb, which is where you need it to be for, you know, TYPING. durr.

These dudes are too little too late.

My first inclination is to scoff, but I remember getting frustrated when I couldn't operate my iPod scroll wheel with gloves on. Not "...before turning the gun on himself" frustrated, but annoyed enough that I would have considered buying gloves such as those.

/switched to Zune (not because of the gloves issue)

Didn't someone else invent these right after the first set of touch screen devices came out? I know I've seen them before...

Well, my boyfriend is a freak over his iPhone and he just recently moved to where I live, which is much chillier in the winter time than where he is from.

I attempted to pre-order these (for an early Christmas present) because they have a week order time and they only accept Paypal. I've had pretty much nothing but issues with Paypal ever, so I'd rather not use it, but then when I was like "Oh what the fark, just this once," it wouldn't verify my debit card.

I guess I'll have to think of something else to get him.

I'm sorry, but I have to ask. I can't figure out who the hell you were alluding to. Who, pray tell, is your "birthed"? I'm veering between "person who birthed you" and "person I gave birth to" and the difference, as you can imagine, is significant.

I have no idea how it turned out like that. I meant to type "brother".

How? You're saying that taking off your gloves the fark with your phone is risking frostbite. I'm saying that if you're in the kind of place where you get frostbite in the time it takes to fark with your phone, you probably have bigger issues. How ever do you get your keys out of your pocket?
