Kudos, subby, on a clever turnabout on the earlier headline, but this, too, is img1.fark.net.

Yeah, that deserves a vote up. So the Teabagger era lasted, what, 4 hours?

Way to go baggers. You gave the Dems a seat the GOP had for about 800 years.

How's that Revolution going?

JerseyTim [TotalFark] 2009-11-04 12:22:18 AM
This was a referendum on Sarah Palin.

So, no comment on how losing a district for the first time in 140 years plays on your party? But you're still going with the line that this is a referendum on Obama, right?

Hmm...I don't remember stating a position or expressing care in any way. Lemme go back and check.

I wouldn't know. I'll ask a Republican the next time I meet one.

tallguywithglasseson [TotalFark] 2009-11-04 12:32:09 AM
Republicans carried this district 65% to 35% in 2008, just one year ago. 30 friggin' points.

Nice work there, ideologues. Smaller tent, fewer people inside. Keep it up.

And your Tea Party analogy is retarded.

Good luck with that, they never...ahem... admit their affiliation. 87% of republicans are actually Independent.

Most. Boring. Candidate. Evar.

/srsly, at least Palin wasn't an anesthetic
//she cost Repubs yet another seat, and they'll probably still follow her off the cliff

I'll take your word for it. I'm gonna be hard pressed to find any over here anyway. Ze Germans have a great way of not really giving a shiat about the garbage out of America.

This is actually part of the "better to have a Democrat than a RINO" strategy. When's Olympia Snowe up for re-election again? 2012? Go ahead and defeat her in the primary with someone like Alan Keyes. Or, hell. With Alan Keyes. Let me know how that works out.

Slap a news tag on this instead of news flash, and let's make it happen. This could be any epic thread if it actually made it green.

Surool [TotalFark] 2009-11-04 12:53:48 AM
Hah! "better to have a Democrat than a RINO." The whole farking party is republican in name only! Not one of 'em seems to be for anything Republicans believed in before Newt's 90's takeover. Now they are no longer Republicans, they are merely Anti-Democrats.

Does Obama stay president or not? I was being told that the victories in Virginia and New Jersey means that he was going to be ousted tomorrow or something.

Hee hee.

I was going to say, "Well, why don't you ask one?" but that doesn't make it any clearer, just funnier.

clifton: Does Obama stay president or not? I was being told that the victories in Virginia and New Jersey means that he was going to be ousted tomorrow or something.

He gets to stay president, but he's a lame duck, as apparently the Governor of NJ controls the Nuclear Football and the Governor of VA is empowered to sign treaties. And PA elected a Republican to head up their Supreme Court because the country is clearly extremely anti-Obama, however any Democrats that won, won because local elections don't really reflect on national politics. And losing NY-23 is great news for conservatives and bad news for Obama for some reason that really isn't clear.

At least that seems to be the early argument.

Action Replay Nick [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-11-04 01:16:54 AM
It's true. This is all because ACRORN bussed in Mickey Mouse and Fred Sandford to vote against the real American in the race.

Whatever, better to have a Democrat in office than the next Olympia Snowe.

Suck it libs, the Republicans won all the Governor races on the east coast, in your own back yard. I'd say that's pretty momentous, and ya'll are gonna have a hell of a time in 2010 with all these new Republican Governors backing Republican congressional candidates.

Your effeminate liberal days are numbered, libs. Mark my words.

The problem, clearly, is that the Conservative Party candidate wasn't conservative enough.

FTFY

Good job on getting another Democrat elected, Sarah Palin.

randomjsa 2009-11-04 01:25:47 AM
Ahh, so the RINO managed to screw it up anyway and that's the only way the Democrat won.

Your suggested really triggered a deep sense of longing for me... a longing to see Alan Keyes run for the biggest office possible. Are there any states we could convince him to parachute into for a Senate run? Texas? New Hampshire? I'll contribute to a "Draft Failure Alan" campaign.

keytronic 2009-11-04 01:26:36 AM
This is a major setback for Palin and Pawlenty. They backed the 3rd party ultra-conservative candidate and basically pushed out the moderate republican who had a good chance of winning.

End result, thanks to the interventions of Palin and Pawlenty the Democrat wins a seat that should have been an easy win for the moderate Republican who was elected.

Good job guys...I can't wait for them to bring their winning strategies to 2012!!

The teabagger period will be over when all Americans learn how to think for themselves. And how to keep up with politics. And how to count. And how to spell. And...

Critch 2009-11-04 01:27:06 AM
Ah, a green, haven't had one of these in a while. Didn't give me the option for News, just newsflash that I could see anyway.

I was just trying to figure out why the hell it's a referendum on Obama when 2 governors get elected when governors don't have any real power on the national scene, and the only two congress seats up both went to democrats, one of which was a incredible rebuke to everything that Palin and Beck have been spewing the last several months.

If anything, this shows that while America isn't crazy for Democrats, they are certainly better than the fringe right. 2010 looks a lot brighter now.

THAT is the goddamn SPIRIT, son! You people have got to get serious about that RINO problem you've got and get some more farking candidates that Glenn Beck can endorse!

You do that, it's IN THE BAG.

Your definition of "RINO" being, apparently, "any Republican who doesn't suck Glenn Beck's cock."

Please. Like Alan Keyes would ever move to a state just to run for the Senate...
