I don't recall too many "nobody respects us" cards being played, considering most fans who follow these things are aware that the Sporting News and Fox Sports have had the Saints at #1 for a few weeks now.

This. More like "ESPN doesn't," if anything.

Immediate thoughts:

9ers are still ranked too low. Put them above the Chargers and Bears at least and I think you'd be about good there.

Titans win ONE game with VY at the helm and move up 3 spots? Apparently Spike Lee's Favorite Farker writes for ESPN.

FTFA:

"What can the Raiders do to improve the state of things during the bye week?"

Get us a QB that doesn't immediately hand over 14 pts to the opposing team would probably be a start. Trade him for what you can get. Which, at this point, is probably 2 1980's era exercise bikes and a bag of footballs.

So, how much will the Saints drop when they're upset by the Panthers next week?

/I can dream, right?

FARK THE EAGLES! SLIMEY BASTARDOS!

Well, I guess they're not going to greenlight this before I leave work, so I'll just leave this here:

i27.photobucket.com

Here's the direct link (pops), in case this thread doesn't go green and another one does. Maybe one of you can post it over there. I incorporated some dotted lines to help differentiate & follow along. I know it hurts the eyes, but it's better than having to use a "color wheel" to interpret it. It was treygreen13's idea, so yell at him if you don't like it.

Also, this week's featured team is the Giants because LOL

The line for the Titans looks like the one for the stock market in the early 30s. But look! A recovery bounce! The crash is over!

Something tells me it's going to end about the same way...

Great work. It looks a lot better, though the Texans' line ought to be a bit higher. That's not your fault though.

As an Eagle fan, I'm getting a kick outta the Giants freefall.

BlaineIsAPain 2009-11-03 09:42:22 PM
The Cowboys are ranked way too high. Yeah they've been good the past three weeks but they haven't won any divisional games. I don't think they should be ranked higher than the Eagles OR Giants.

Do saints fans actually think they are going to win the SB?

Im just asking from years of your let downs, they look decent but to be honest atlanta is the toughest team they faced and they didnt look like world beaters just a decent team that the steelers or pats would chew up.

skinink 2009-11-03 09:44:08 PM
Starting with #24 on down, can those teams just be left off the list until next year? They don't belong on a power list they belong on the side of a milk carton for missing teams.

And it's pass rush is pretty ugly, too.

Until it actually happens and Benson is doing the Benson Boogie to go collect his Lombardi Trophy, no, Saints fans are in a perpetual state of waiting for the other shoe to drop. As for Atlanta, they came in very pumped and the Saints played poorly and still won. As for the Patriots being able to beat them, they will get their shot in four weeks.

Eagles 9 and Raiders 27 ? thats not what i learned 2 weeks ago!

The Saints play the Panthers, Rams and Bucs next, with a combined record 4-18

on the other hand

The Colts play Texans, Patriots, and Ravens and they are 14-8 combined.

The Saints will roll the Rams and Bucs, and more than likely the Panthers. (boring)

while the Colts will play three consecutive smash mouth games, I can't wait !

/GO COLTS

steamingpile: they didnt look like world beaters just a decent team that the steelers or pats would chew up.

I'm not sure who the steelers are yet. Are they the team that could easily be 7-0 without two close road losses or are they the team that barely beat the titans in the opener and got a call to help them beat the vikes at home? Same thing with the pats really - a bit inconsistent. They look like world beaters for a week and ordinary the next. I'll feel a lot better about Pittsburgh once we beat a good team on the road (Monday night vs Denver) or if we take the next games against Cincy and Baltimore. I'm on the fence right now. Roethlisberger has certainly stepped it up. Unfortunately the defense does not appear to be the same as last year and losing Aaron Smith ain't helping matters.

That's gonna be a biatch. You take 2 of 3 and be very happy. 1 and 2 isn't a disaster.

Yeah, I can see that but I think they have benefited from playing a weak schedule up until now, all the teams they played are not that good except for maybe the eagles and didnt they play them when mcnabb was out? Geez and they even lucked up and got the rams on their schedule, man could they have just given them a ticket for the playoffs?

They should still finish 14-2 barring a total collapse

The Saints and the Colts kinda switch places for the next month. Now the Saints get easy games and the Colts are gonna have to work for the wins.

I can't wait for the next MNF with the Saints vs the Pats. Gonna be a great game.

The fact that the Lions aren't #32 completely strips these of all credibility.

The colts are 0-0

The vikings are 1-1

The Broncos are 3-1

As a Giants fan, we are crappy until proven otherwise. I talked some shiat after the first 5 weeks, and now it's been shoved in my face. Eli looks like he did pre-Super Bowl year, and the defense has been crap. I have no idea what changed between Week 5 and now, but they better change it back.

Psh, being a Saints fan is as close as I'll ever get to rooting for the Red Sox or the Cubbies.

Are you talking about the Saints? They had the one of the harder opening schedule and are only now getting to the cupcake part of it.

They played the Eagles (Yes, without Mcnabb, but offense wasn't their problem defense was), the 3-0 Jets, the 5-0 Giants, a tough Maimi who took the colts to the wire, and a tough Falcon team that looked like they are starting to click.

and how did the rams jump 4-5 spots by winning one game. againts the lions? (i'm a fan of the ramjam)

Bengals are 2-1.

The one loss is the tipped pass/miracle from week 1 versus Broncos.

Cincy plays Ravens at home followed by Steelers in Pittsburgh. Win either one of those and I think they win the division.

AFC North - Toughest division in football

bionicjoe: AFC North - Toughest division in football

I was hoping that wasn't the case after playing the Ravens 3 times last year, but it's kind of looking like the division is even stronger now. I wasn't sure about the Bengals... until they beat Baltimore on the road. That's a quality win.

You kind of don't wanna be ranked #1. The pressure is a lot for some players to handle

I completely agree with that statement....

even when you you look at the Browns. Ironic kind of. Three kickass teams paired with the worst team in the NFL.

That doesn't mean it's not gonna happen...a couple of players start to let it get to their heads and the whole thng comes crashing down
