(CNN) Interesting
"Obama's approval rating of 54% nearly identical to the 53% he won a year ago. And in nearly every demographic category, the percent that approve of Obama today is within 2-3 points of the percent who voted for him in 2008."

I'd wager that 54% of people are afraid that Obambis jackbooted ACORN thugs are going to break their doors down in the middle of the night and force little Timmy to wear a dress.

This can't possibly be true. I've been told over and over again (TODAY!) that everyone who voted for Obama regrets their decision and that the Republicans are going to take back Congress in 2010 because of it.

And we all know that Republicans and Fark Independents have a solid grasp on reality. After all, their predictions for the 2008 election were so spot on that they're still letting us in on their little chunks of wisdom at every juncture.

Republicans hate Obama. Why? Change. It's the same reason they hate homeless people: change. If only we could harness the power of wishing wells and mall fountains, we could scare the entire Republican party into absolute submission. The War On Change is about to begin.

This shouldn't be a surprise. I'm less enthusiastic about my support for Obama than I was a year ago, but the Respect Differential between him and his opponents has stayed pretty steady.

You do the math, Republicans. You don't have to make everyone happy. You just have to make people happier than the competition.

These were the same people who told me that Obama was going to lose and that Chicago would be in flames after the election so I should flee the city in terror.

/the only flames were the psychic flames of a bunch of conservative heads exploded at once that we elected a man whose middle name was Hussein.

They are all in the Obama jobs thread.

And watch how they magically ignore this poll after they cheered when he went past 50% approval rating. So this week polls mean nothing.

As someone who voted for Obama, I will say this:

He ran on Hope and Change. I still have Hope that he will be able to make a significant positive Change for America.

I Hope that the Democrats in congress will rally together to do something, anything. That would be a welcome Change.

I Hope that Obama will deliver on his campaign promises, but understand that sometimes making the right Change is not quick or simple.

Am I thrilled with what he's accomplished to date? No, but he has asked me to be Hopeful that things will Change.

I am among the 54%.

Brilliant platform.

/take this as you will, I suppose

Obama's job approval numbers are a sham. People who confuse job approval and personal approval are tilting the polls.

A majority of people disapprove of Obama's handling of every major issue except one.

50% disapprove of Obama's handling of taxes
54% disapprove of Obama's handling of the Economy
56% disapprove of Obama's handling of Afghanistan
57% disapprove of Obama's handling of health care
60% disapprove of Obama's handling of the deficit

If you disapprove of Obama's handling of 5 of 6 issues, how can you approve of his job performance so far?

Obama is a failure. I told you he would doom his party. Look at the results tonight. Democrats will lose in New Jersey and Virginia, both Obama states. Democrats will lose in NY-23 and all around the nation.

Democrats are tired, because they know that Obama screwed them over. Obama screwed over working people when the Government took over GM and fired it's workers. Obama screws LGBTs by refusing to stand up for their rights. Obama is going to screw working people again with his idiotic health care plan.

Obama has enough Democrats to get the job done, yet the job isn't getting done. Obama can't barnstorm and say "258 House Dems and 60 Senators aren't enough for me to get the job done"

Americans want people who will stand up to Obama and his dictatorial desires. Just like how they stood up to Bush's worst desires, they will stand up to Obama.

Look one thread above this, even the "liberal" new York times is spouting this crap:

Pauline McAreavy voted for President Obama. From the moment she first saw him two years ago, she was smitten by his speeches and sold on his promise of change. She switched parties to support him in the Iowa caucuses, donated money and opened her home to a pair of young campaign workers.

President Obama won Marengo, Iowa, by 14 votes last November, but some supporters are now second-guessing their vote.
"I really thought there would be immediate change," said Pauline McAreavy, 76, a retired school nurse.
But by the time she received a fund-raising letter last month from the Democratic National Committee, a sense of disappointment had set in. She returned the solicitation with a handwritten note, saying, "Until I see some progress and he lives up to his promises in Iowa, we will not give one penny."

"I'm afraid I wasn't realistic," Ms. McAreavy, 76, a retired school nurse, said on a recent morning on the deck of her home here in east-central Iowa.

"I really thought there would be immediate change," she said. "Sometimes the Republicans are just as bad as Democrats. But it's politics as usual, and that's what I voted against.

Ms. McAreavy fears that the president's health care plan will shortchange her Medicare benefits and mean infrequent mammogram examinations."

In other words the Great Gray Lady of American journalism just wasted about columninches on thier front page quoting the political musings of a complete ignoramus who has no clue what is going on in Washington and can't be bothered to educate herself.

Patience. We all know they have to prepare a well-thoughtout, correctly spelled diagram so everyone will "understand" their point.
