No, the strangest thing about this story is that the family didn't run and get a lawyer to sue the pants off of the produce company and Foxnews still reported it.

I think it's really funny that company asked them to mail the lettuce and frog to them...how silly.

Well, the family didn't want the frog to croak.

Check out what's permitted in various foodstuffs sometime, you might be surprised. Mind you, I think they draw the line at amphibians.

No, the strangest thing about this story is that the frog wasn't the species that is hounded by a female pig and kept saying "Jeesh" and Fox News still reported it.

From what I understand. Critters end up in produce shipped to grocery stores all the time. Spiders in bannanas and whatnot.

Hopefully that frog doesn't reproduce with American frogs and create a super frog race.

/Invasive species BAAAAAD!!!!

Is this farking country so sterilized with handy-wipes and germ spray that a naturally-occurring frog in bag of farking salad is news?
Yes.

I worked at a restaurant way back in the day. We'd very rarely find a frog or large snail in sealed bags of chopped lettuce. Always alive, for whatever reason.

Free protein upgrade.

And why is a D.C. affiliate reporting on a suburban Detroit Bart's-People-type story?

By releasing it, might they have upset the balance and introduced a new species that the local environment won't be able to cope with?

Guess they'll be the ones sued.

Those assholes wanted her to mail the damn frog? Poor thing. I would have kept him as a pet.

So, new trick to get free produce in hard times?

Step 1: Collect frog, lizard, or spider from your front yard.
Step 2: Stick the creature in your bag of lettuce, carrots, etc, and mail it off to the grocery store, or just take a picture like this lady did with a random frog from your yard. If they find this unacceptable, call them heartless animal killers so they feel guilty and give in.
Step 3: Recieve coupons/vouchers for free food or threaten to sue. Win.
